Most of this channel's videos feature footage from the more temperate months, so I thought I would show some of the more familiar environs as they don their equally-amazing winter garb - in this case, the southern Collegiate area of the Sawatch Range. Enjoy the footage!! For other videos from Mt. Princeton, Mt. Antero and their surroundings: kzbin.info/aero/PL_-D3-4b6xbqJp8nCYmQmKy5-0f4h8iYI

Stunning views! What kind of temps were you dealing with? And you do winter mountaineering?

Thanks - the winter vistas of this region really are spectacular. I used clips from multiple occasions for this video, but on the lower part of the Mt. Princeton road, which is the actual hiking part shown here, I don't recall it being too cold - maybe just around freezing. But had we gone up higher, temps would have dropped a lot, and winds would have increased. I have yet to get into any serious winter mtn climbing. Every year I tell myself this will be the year I get all the extra gear and give it a go, but I still haven't. Maybe this year. 🤣

At first I thought you were going to climb 🪜 it, I know you have it in you but, glad you didn't.

Hey!! I hope you are doing well these days. And actually, this would have been a great day to attempt this as a winter 14er climb (as winter days go in the high mtns), if I had come with that intention and with the appropriate equipment. The 2 times I have climbed all the way up this were both in October, with little snow. Anyway, good to hear from you.
