baal blade And he won't. Of COURSE he won't kill. You honestly think that a guy who recreated Watchmen pretty much panel for panel(except for the better ending they wrote into the movie, in my opinion), would screw up the main tenant of Batman's belief system?
@dragonrings148 жыл бұрын
+Resale Living Snyder has never made a realistic movie before. He is always about ott, comical and highly visual films. I doubt we will get "gritty" as it is a movie about gods fighting one another. It might be serious but that really depends on how much like the trailer it is. I mean that trailer (the Doomsday one) was very light hearted. They joked, Lex was so campy and nothing really felt like it had stakes. This is all speculation but I think it might be best not to get your hopes too high. This movie will most likely never live up to them.

The biggest challenge I have with Marvel fans like Amy is, the blatant hypocrisy... Civilians die in Avengers 1&2, in Cap 2 in Thor (London was wrecked) etc but no one complains, Man of Steel the World engine killed many but its Superman. Marvel Heroes have a track record of killing their villains and its all good Superman kills 1 to save a family and its bad. DC put 3 heroes in BvS with possible 3 cameos "oh its over crowded", Marvel put TWELVE in Cap 3 and its awesome not overcrowded??? Now Amy complains that DC is too dark and in less than 5 secs says I love how Marvel tv is so dark and gritty??? And if DC make something light watch them say "why are they copying marvel?"That's why I don't pay attention to the haters. They are predisposed to just hate DC. I will watch and enjoy both on their merits. I have no time to hate DC nor Marvel, I will enjoy both.Hating on DC for being different is a sad life I cannot bear.

+israel phiri Double standards bro. Its the main thing that makes DC fans angry. You just have to learn to live with it
@quintz72108 жыл бұрын
+israel phiri ... Okay. Seriously. People have to stop with this whole "Everybody is attacking DC" thing. Pretty much everyone loves DC and their characters. If anything, it's the way Warner Bros. handles those characters that people are having issues with. WB Executives with their heads up their asses, do not represent the DC Universe respectfully. Also, I think people are willing to let things like you mentioned (destruction of cities, deaths of villains, large rosters of heroes etc.) slide in Marvel's movies because Marvel was never taking things as seriously, so it's not as jarring when those things happen. WB/DC have backed themselves into an awkward corner, where they're taking things SUPER seriously, and it feels like they forgot that they're making fucking superhero movies about characters with names like "SUPERMAN" or "BATMAN" or "AQUAMAN" or "WONDER WOMAN". Seriously, think about those names for a minute, and tell me how serious this needs to be. I mean, DC and their weirdly sensitive fan base really need to lighten up a bit. I thought these movies were supposed to be fun...And no, fun doesn't mean stupid.
@theslackothmiz8 жыл бұрын
+Jamail -van Westering The tone is serious and it does work because this film carries on from all the destruction which was a huge event that showed people that aliens exist and live among them and the co-star of the film is batman. A lot of damage is man of steel was inevitable as well because the damage came from the world engine. There is also no way Supes could have taken them all to the desert that is preposterous.
@soritahin12838 жыл бұрын

Superman catches the "grenade". Batman says "It's time for you to learn what it means to be a man." Grenade explodes delivering Kryptonite particles into Supermans lungs and all over his body. Batman beats superman down - as he is now "a man" and can feel what it means to suffer like a man. Batman is teaching superman a lesson here, and I LOVE it.

With respect to whether Batman v. Superman is too dark or not, the apparent reason that Superman is going after him from what Ive seen in the trailers is because Batman is too dark. We see in the trailers Clark confronting Bruce about Batman's "reign of terror" on Gotham. So Batman in this movie isnt dark just to be dark, it actually is a plot point in the movie. Also it makes sense that Batman after 20+ yrs of dealing with crime would be fed up with that shit and start breaking some legs.

+ssgsorrels DC is dark and meant to be dark. Granted there are realms that are significantly darker but the majority of dc is dark. Even flash that is one of the lighter characters has subtle grimness thrown in the mix for example how barry allens parents were killed, how wally west wife was also killed by zoom to make him a better hero(even though he went back in time to stop it his wife suffered a miscariage), death of aquababy, etc. So you have no idea what you are talking about, sit this one out

U-5 Not a Punisher fan and Batman is more than just a militant vigilante with a gun. This a man that experienced something traumatic in his life and decided to turn that into something beneficial to those that suffer the same. A wealthy man that went through years of pain and training in order to become something his city needed. Batman has deep issues for sure but those same issues motivate him to do the good he does no matter how his methods are perceived by the general public. His mind has to be in a dark place to do it the way he does which we find fascinating. In reality such a person wouldn't function with such issues but this is based off comics afterall. Far from the Punisher dude...

Just an FYI about things being to dark: I expect "Justice League" will be tonally not quite as dark as "Batman v Superman." I never understood why people thought Vision was the end all be all when it came to Civil War. Do people not know how powerful Scarlet Witch is? We're talking about the woman who single-handedly made the mutant race an endangered species. She is wickedly powerful, and I always thought that having her on Cap's team more than makes up for lacking heavy hitters. Don't forget she was very good at tearing the Avengers apart in Age of Ultron.

Regarding Justice League: One thing to consider is in one previous formation of the Justice League Batman was a founding member but clearly told everyone he was Part-Time. Batman's priority was Gotham and the impression was that initially at least the Justice League needed him more than The Batman needed the Justice League (note how in the various versions of the League it is typically Batman that finds the big clue or comes up with the big solution or tactical maneuver that saves the day). It makes sense that Superman or some Meta-Human combo initially creates the idea and Batman is solicited as they recognize that he is more than their equal and Batman recognizes: 1. the League is needed for world scale disasters 2. if a bunch of Meta-Humans are forming a club, he should be involved to keep an eye on them.

I love Robert. I was so happy someone finally stood up and put the whole "comic book movie" into perspective. We keep arguing over decisions that big studios are making and fighting over movies that haven't come out yet when we should take a step back and appreciate that we're in an age where we're getting big budget movies based on stories and characters that we love. I'll watch anything with your name on it, Robert. You're a rock star and I love where your heart is.

Superman is called a boyscout, too good, a weak ass who has no balls, boring and perfect. They make him more mature. Now he's too dark, he's not saving enough cats in trees, needs to smile more, did too much damage.
@shadonx42198 жыл бұрын
exactly I'm glad they're doing this different take on superman rather than the 70s boyscout version
@RedfurredPikachu8 жыл бұрын
+Kegan Terry As we seen with Captian America you can use the boyscout charachter and put him in serious situations thus making him interesting, but making something dark does'nt automatically make it a good story. If there's no reason for something to be dark it can be just ridiclous as a dark story that's too light hearted.
@k.t.16418 жыл бұрын
+RedfurredPikachu But that's the thing isn't it. When does something "turn" dark. Man of steel wasn't dark to me. But I guess since it's a different version, example he's a bit more down to earth. (Ex:Not a smiling idiot who flexes his muscles constantly, while winking at the camera) does this make it "darker"? My personal opinion, people don't like seeing the real life consequences and destruction that would happen if a man like this existed. But does it take away from the character superman is? I don't believe so. If anything, I have a new respect for the person. I see what issues he faces. He's not a happy go lucky person who saves the day and flies off. Darker? Maybe. But it IS for a reason. Whether we agree or not, I've never been more into the character Superman than I am now. I'm more intrigued.

@dadarkknight363108 жыл бұрын
+Coddy Riggin Dude I been reading DC for the most part of my life and whoever said DC was light does not know what they are talking about. DC is dark, really dark sometimes. Heck they had to move some of their characters to vertigo. The batman animated series was even dark. That's why their villian date so popular.

Sick of people who always used "darkness" and "grittyness" as an insult to everything DC, but now love it because it's Marvel. Amy, you are one of the biggest offenders when it comes to this. Fine with people not liking DC, just admit it, don't hide behind bullshit excuses.
@demialabi49428 жыл бұрын
+derek Hanna I think she's cool, but i have to agree it's annoying me too that people keep saying DC is trying to hard to be dark! How? Because there not all jokey and light like marvel, jeez just let DC be DC stop comparing them so much to marvel! By the way I love marvel not trying to bash!
@jeevanghataore63498 жыл бұрын
Daredevil, punisher, etc should be dark Batman should also be dark Superman should not

@commandershepard4858 жыл бұрын
Jeevan Ghataore yea i idk what is with people thinking it was dark. Maybe because of the camera lenses they use lol. I know all of zack Snyder films have that gritty look to them, like the world is lived in.

Maybe I'm not understanding the opening announcement but did Campea say that he left Collider Movietalk to go host a different competing movie news program?

***** he can. But when he tries to argument his way out of this opinion it comes down to: 1) he doesn't like non-formulaic storytelling; 2) he needs to drink some nonsense CGI superpowered kool-aid.

Joseph Long so, if you haven't seen about fifty episodes after it, are you really able to judge what it is now? Even I'm not arguing that about 15 first episodes were total dogshit.
@josephlong8238 жыл бұрын
Михаил Затрутин I mean, he said he likes the new season. Makes me want to give it another shot. I honestly don't know enough about the show to say I'd he's being ignorant or not, but he's usually pretty spot-on.

Blew my mind Schnepp! Tony is wearing a sling when he's in the prison too! Odds are that's after the trailer fights and then we see the bigger threat!
@BigmikeReviews8 жыл бұрын
I think Amy's inclination towards bright and sunny stories is misguided when dealing with the Justice League, DC needs to differentiate themselves tonally so they can't be accused of copying Marvel.

I don't under stand John Campea. He steps down from Movie talk and makes a big deal about it just to start his own podcast, continue to make appearances on Heroes and Jedi Council, and now he says he starting a new weekly movie show. Is anyone else confused by this?

+Tim Harrison He's going to be doing a show for Lion's Gate i think....a big step up careerwise
@woodulike2no9898 жыл бұрын
+Tim Harrison I'm assuming he just wanted to move on, maybe have more say in how the show is done, what content to cover, work with different people, be able to do his podcast, devote more time to his wife and to writing. Recently on Collider the crew was saying they average about 16 hour days while at Collider - if he was doing that while at AMC and Collider both, I can imagine he just felt it was too much and needed to let go.

Don't understand why Amy or whatever says all this stuff that conflicts with her previous comments? So many double standards, she's fucking biased. Biased as you can possibly be. No need for her on Heroes anymore, come on Jon Schnepp you know this too.
