"oh god, another superhero movie" Max i think you're on the wrong show LOL SMH!! i think hollywood made Max very cynical, especially as he is in the indie circuit. however i agree that comic book movies do at times confuse who they are targeting. however i think they have a good grasp on it now. people were always going to find a problem with Batman V Superman. its still the underdog regardless of the fact that everyone is talking about it and knows its coming, its still the underdog because its DC. but i feel like this show is really going wrong with its guest. however i think its needed. we need these points of view because this is the point of view that a LOT of people have. we sometimes forget that because this show is designed for us Comic nerds there are people who see it the way Max, Arron and Adi see it. in a way we need these views in order to challenge us and our views.

I mean really!!!

Max Landis was such a solid anchor for this episode! His cynicism could strain, but that opposing viewpoint with intelligently formed arguments made this episode more thought provoking. I can totally understand and respect where Landis is coming from. He doesnt have to like anything at all, totally fine. That being said, why bring someone who has these opinions onto a show meant to be the round table of nerds? A show meant to be the small place where sweaties can come and congregate? A show not meant for the exchange of opposing ideas between fans and non fans, but for fans to speculate and geek out amongst each other? Max Landis isnt a hater, he just doesnt care for whats happening right now. Hes not right, hes not wrong, but hes just not the type of guest that belongs here

+awarlock82 i have to agree with you on a lot of this, I personally feel Landis was way off here and spoke utter nonsense every time he opened his mouth. For a writer and director he sure missed a lot of stuff. He either went too deep into a trailer or didnt go deep enough, but it doesnt matter because he looks like the kind of guy that thinks everything coming out of his mouth should be quoted. Cant stand hearing him talk about anything. Im also surprised that American Alien is so good considering how much trash he speaks

@ThaiChi5559 жыл бұрын
+KPCook He so articulately listed off "things" and "things" because of "things". He came off as whiny and a contrarian. Even when he tried to compliment something he had to backpedal and immediately say something negative about it (EG Daredevil). To people complaining... you dont really appreciate commentary from the people that forms part of the industry that YOU LOVE. Maybe is the way they deliver their thoughts that bothers you, but remember, they are at the other end of the spectrum, we fans receive their product, so it is important to see how artist on the industry think of the industry in general. There is a reason why both max and adi felt so strong about their point of views. Please be smarter, dont just like more people that have the same opinion as you OR that arent a copy of yourself. Multiple points of views are the most important thing in social media
@marcosdheleno9 жыл бұрын
+Julio Cesar Violo right, and most of his points were, "im tired of comic book movies" and "comic book movies/series/books/anything is dying and i cant stand any of them." most of his points were basically, rambling about how he is tired of those things. he really didnt talk about anything. just bashed everything, and each time someone tried talk about it, he just repeated himself.
@julio11489 жыл бұрын
Marcos Danilo because to his eyes they all looked the same right? like he gave many examples on the star trek trailer alone, and he gave a pretty good observation (in my opinion) that these movies are starting to loose focus on who their audience is :/ but I can totally see how most didnt like him cause his delivery wasnt very good. But for those who are open to opinions would have really heard wha his point of view was, and when he called back to those opinions you would already understand what was his basis to think that.
@marcosdheleno9 жыл бұрын
+Julio Cesar Violo "that these movies are starting to loose focus on who their audience is" sorry mate i completly disagree with you, they know exactly who their target audience is. its just not comic book purists. about his opinions i really want to know, but since he started screaming for no reason, and i use my headphones, i had to put them away untill he stopped talking. so i cant really tell what he was talking about, but, what i heard were basically not really what he didnt like, but just that he doesnt like them anymore. he could have given an amazing speech... but if he randomly start yelling and screaming for no reason, i cant really hear them. and thats a problem to me, i have no problem with diferent points of view. but only when i can hear them and still keep my hearing...
@julio11489 жыл бұрын
Marcos Danilo that quote was his words not mine :) I see where his coming from but not completely agree with him, my whole point was on appreciating points of view from people that are part of the industry, and I do agree with you that his delivery wasnt very good (i made that clear before though)

Some of his ideas and opinions yeah I didn't really click with. But his talk about X-Men Apocalypse I was all behind and a few others had me like "Ummmm... Okay then". But I really did enjoy Max on here, I like what he contributed to the discussion and what he was able to get out of the other guys at the table. He actually seems like he at least to a certain degree knows what he is talking about. So yeah hats off to Max for voicing his opinions and not pulling any punches about what he said. That was a great episode! I think passionate and creative people can become easily overwhelmed by their feelings, and it can have a greater impact on the tone, and energy they present their arguments with. Okay...Landis is clearly intelligent. He at least can back his statements up. But his rampant cynicism is almost unbearable.

I liked this episode. Max is over the top and interesting. Don't agree with everything he says but I like listening to him....sometimes. You guys give great insight into films and TV.(Max too) Keep up the great work guys. Love this show.

Why does it matter?

+David Kogel because when I bought it I expected to get the whole package, it's just corporate greed that it was rerelease with more stuff for the same price or more. I guess they expect the fans to pay double.
@mk6rfc19 жыл бұрын
It's not a deluxe blu ray, just a phase 2 box set. They did the same thing with phase 1
