"You'll tell us in a second, too, Perry." "I will?" "I thought you were." "I could." "Maybe not." Bravo! to the impromptu comedic timing of Perry & Harloff in that exchange at 24:06.

The closest analogy for this Han Solo movie is BACK TO THE FUTURE. They filmed over half the movie with Eric Stoltz, tried to make it work, but had to admit the tone was wrong. They got Michael J. Fox to squeeze it into his schedule, re-shot almost everything and made an all-time classic. Not saying this will happen with Han Solo, but Lucasfilm/Disney has the money to reshoot the whole damn thing if that's what it takes. Plus, they can always push back the release date to December.
@alexhayden2197 жыл бұрын
That's true. Got rid of the directors, now just scrap it all and start over with Ansel Elgort in the lead.
@davyjones-locker9797 жыл бұрын
Harloff is right, many of us would not be too bothered if they pulled the plug on the Han movie as many of us did not really see any point in this film anyway. It boggles the mind as to some of the choices which Lucasfilm are making. They should have come with an Obi Wan film as the second standalone film, and then an Old Republic trilogy.
@davyjones-locker9797 жыл бұрын
Another decision by Lucasfilm which really boggles the mind is the stance on Anthony Ingruber. I would have much preferred to have seen Ingruber for this role, and I am sure that he would not have needed an acting coach.

I think Harloff is right about the Han Solo acting coach. As a walk-on director, Ron Howard has to take on a large amount of duties to bring this picture together--a major aspect of that role is taking care of ones actors. I assume Howard has worked with this coach before and it'll be evident in the final product. fingers crossed

Dying of a Broken heart *IS a real thing!* It's proper medical term is Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. It's brought along by stressful situations like the death of a loved one. I think that with all of the Stress of how much Padme was in during the Clone Wars plus all of of the deaths of friends and her pregnancy the Final nail in the coffin was Anakin choking her and his metaphorical death via turning to the Darkside. Also we need remember in the original draft for Episode 3 she was going to try and kill Anakin herself (theres consept art of her holding a knife and even the possibility that that might have been in the back of her head must of added a *TON* of Stress.

I just want a clone wars era movie (towards the start and near/end of the war) with a Jedi we don't know or barely know (like Eeth Koth or some new Jedi) with a group of clones voiced by Dee Bradley Baker and with Temuera morrison as the clones face/body (each with their own personalized look). They would develop a close bond with one another and be sent into some of the most dangerous and deadly missions during the war. As each battle goes on fewer of the squad remains and new clones fill the gap showing how expendable they truly are. Also having the clones be in actual armor. I want it to show how the clone wars was from the clones perspective not the Jedi's.

10:11 - I agree with Kristian. Lucasfilm has put too much into the Han Solo movie to scrap it now, but I wouldn't mind it if they did. He's a character that I didn't/don't need an origin story for. Give me an Obi-Wan movie, or something having to do with the Jedi after the purge. I want something more original from a Star Wars spin-off. 38:02 - I've learned to just steer clear of the comments section of any video about a popular nerd franchise that's chosen to put some focus on women. It keeps me sane and keeps my cynicism towards the human race from reaching critical levels. With *The Forces of Destiny* trailer, I clicked on it, watched it, "liked" it, and continued on my merry way. 40:03 - Sounds interesting, but how would the Empire even keep track of something like that? How are they gonna know if someone is from Alderaan or not? Do they have a complete list of the planet's population? Even if they did, how would you even find the scant amount that escaped the planet's destruction in an entire galaxy? Why would it even matter?

The difference between Kathleen Kennedy and Kevin Feige, is that (correct me if I'm wrong), Kevin Feige, as the head of Marvel Studios, knows the lore of Marvel properties, as well as being a film producer, so the films benefit for being authentic Marvel characters. Kathleen Kennedy is just a head of a film studio. That isn't enough to helm a cinematic universe. Dave Feloni or even Pablo Hildago are closer to a Kevin Feige than Kathleen Kennedy. I don't blame her for the mess behind Han Solo. After all, it's Lawrence Kasdan that highly recommended Lord and Miller.

So, Kristian, you keep saying that we know for sure that Kylo wasnt bad 6 years before TFA because of Bloodline, but truely, we done have confirmation of that. Leia thinks he is still with Luke and on the good side, but she mentions that she hasnt really seen him for a while. You may be actually correct, but it would be possible to say that he had gone to the dark side some time before bloodline, but Luke hadn't told her, and she hadnt found out otherwise. I really think that is a possibility, and would kinda like that reversal from what we think at this point.

It's my feeling that the acting coach was needed as a mediator between actor and director more than to help with just acting if the report was true that Alden went to Kennedy. Sounds like an argument/something happened between actor and director & the dialogue broke down late in the game. How can you direct someone who no longer agrees or respects your vision, whether rightly so or not.
@dirufanboy19717 жыл бұрын
I always assumed that Leia was talking about her adopted mother, Bail Organa's wife (who obviously died while Leia was still young) and not Padme. That made sense to me and I have pretty much assumed that was who Leia was talking about basically since 1983 - I can't be the only fan to have thought that, surely?
@alexhayden2197 жыл бұрын
Kathleen Kennedy is the Kevin Feige of Star Wars, but I think where the question comes up is because there seems to be only one person in Hollywood right now that has a vision for where his properties are going forward, and has built a team of trust that seemingly rarely has problems internally, and that's Kevin Feige. Edgar Wright was an exception, but it was taken care of before the movie got made, not after. DC looks like they're hopefully in the beginning stages of turning things around. Star Wars under Kennedy, at this point, is making A LOT less movies than Marvel is under Feige, but Feige/Marvel have always seemed to navigate it all generally smoothly, while it seems like most of the movies being made under Kennedy go through serious problems, and it doesn't sound like Kennedy/Lucasfilm has a clear direction that they want to go with things. I don't love everything Filoni does, but he's a storyteller and a planner and a showman. I don't see Kennedy as any of those things. Filoni would probably be the better choice for architect of the franchise and I'd rather he be the Feige of Star Wars instead of Kennedy and instead of him directing a movie.

so if kylo was 23 when he was still good and rey was hidden away at jakkuu when she seems to have been under 10 and she is about the age luke was at the beginning of star wars which was about 18 or 19, the timeline don't make sense. That means that ben turned about 8 or so years ago, but we know he didn't until at least 6 years before tfa. So is it possible that rey was hidden before Luke's temple was destroyed. Alarm bells should have sounded when the cast was announced, let alone the first meeting between the directors, producers and the cast. Anthony Ingruber should have been given the role of Han and Ron Howard should have been the choice as the director. With Howard at the helm they would have the necessary tools to help Ingruber knock it out of the park. If only they had just given him a chance. It is the role he was born to play. I hope if there is a Blade Runner prequel he be given the part of Rick Deckard. Or have him as Indiana Jones in flashback scene in the next Indiana Jones film. You could have Indy reminisce over a past adventure as the flashback plays as he decides whether to take on a search for a discovery of archaeological significance. Sought of like the scene in at the beginning of the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Or even have him as Indiana Jones in a prequel. I like Chris Pratt, but I rather have him in Jurassic World and Guardians of Galaxy sequels. Come to think of it, I would love to Pratt as Thomas S. Magnum in a Magnum, P.I movie.

I can't wait for Visceral Star Wars! As long as EA doesn't step in and force the development team to change their vision or the story of this game, it should be great and full of detail, just like Dead Space 1 and 2. Amy Hennig did work on the Uncharted Series, which all the games were great, but the best ones were the ones were either written or lead by Neil Druckmann. Also He was developing Last of Us while Hennig was building Uncharted 3 and as good as U3 was Druckmann's U2 and LoU were way better! And U4 was all Druckmann, Hennig left Naughty Dog to replace Glen Scoflield at Visceral when he opened his own development company. If this means we are going to get a game in the Star Wars world in the vein of Uncharted, Visceral, take all of my money please...

I dreamt I was in the theatre watching The Last Jedi. Leia had a death scene and I woke up to an earth shattering rainstorm.

It's a movie Star Wars didn't need. Han Solo was an established character and going back to make a "young" prequel movie the territory is murky. What do we need to know about the character?
