Now watching the reboot. It really let me down. There were some cool aspects of the Movie that I thought could have been utilized more. But Fox really cut down on Josh Trank's creative vision and didn't let it breathe.

Granted Miller It's a shame, the F4 reboot had everything needed for a pretty solid film & yet they screw it up. But yeah, Fox should just double down on the X-Men & let Marvel Studios do the Fantastic Four. And with Fox in talks with Marvel for an X-Men TV series, Marvel's likely gonna use that as leverage to get the Fantastic Four back.

Shellyman™ Which would be perfect considering that Marvel needs a new big bad after Thanos. And with FF, they can get the rights back to Doctor Doom, Galactus, and Kang the Conquerer, all good candidates to replace Thanos as the new MCU big villain. Personally though, I feel Marvel should slow down for Phase 4 and use Norman Osborn (who is like their Lex Luthor) as the big villain by setting up a "Dark Reign" movie because if they use someone like Galactus again, it will be too similar to Thanos. However, by the end of Phase 4 (if there's even a Phase 5), set up Galactus after an Avengers: Dark Reign movie in a post-credits scene. Also, release a new Fantastic Four non-origin reboot movie in Phase 4, but set them up earlier in another character's movie so the audience is introduced to them. Call it Marvel's The Fantastic Four.

The fact that he's related to Mr Fantastic and Dr Doom is a very small part of the characters backstory that was only ever introduced very late after the characters creation when he was already an established Avengers villain.

There are so many villains in this fiasco. Trank for his immaturity, recklessness and buckling under studio pressure. The studios for not taking this film seriously enough, early enough and being too reactive to the cries of the Internet hordes. And last but not least, the "true fans" (which I'm one by the way) who have been shitting on this movie since the concept stage. Its sad because as John and Kristian said, there are glimmers here that something great could have been done. I like the idea of treating Fantastic Four more like a sci-fi than traditional hero movie. That's how the comic was a lot of the time. Part sci-fi, part explorers of the unknown - only with powers. I'd much rather that than have them fighting an army of Doombots in a 45 minute CGI melee. Ah well, we'll see what happens next. I'm hoping they (either Fox or Marvel Studios if they get back the rights) don't give up on FF.

Everybody in the comment section has said this movie was going to suck because lets face it, the trailers looked horrible. I mean we all been watching movie trailers for years, there was no way the stuff that Fantastic Four was putting out in the trailers were making me excited for this movie. It was so in your face that the tone was going to be off and even the CGI looked off and I don't get how people brought into the trailers. Kate Mara looked like she didn't belong in the movie just by watching the trailers. That 2 minute or whatever long extended trailer was crap, come on what recent superhero movie has made a trailer like that??

If you watch the "would you rather" video featuring the cast, they say after shooting, they didn't even get to peek at the final cut. I saw it, it wasn't horrible. But I can see why people have mixed opinions. But they're gonna need major help on the sequel. Yikes...

Wasn't that bad. Good Scifi Horror feel to the start. You could feel the fear from the them when they first received their powers. Good start.. Terrible end. The last half hour feels like a complete different movie. No feeling of weight to a rushed & played out ending. Doom wasn't terrible for me, I just need more payoff. Miles Teller was excellent & really so was the rest of the cast. I liked it more than most probably give it like a 6.

CGI was bad, story was underdeveloped, it felt like watching two episodes from a TV show in it's 7th season. After all that I still had some fun watching this movie. Chance wasted though, had the potential to be great.

People thinks it's cool to hate and trash on this movie. I saw it and it wasn't as bad as what some idiots say. The first 50 minute was a great set up for a final strong climax but unfortunately Fox cut it off. Josh Trank wasn't given a fair shake and that sucks because Chronicles was great. I liked Doom in this movie. His first prototype costume was very original and make sense. It's his astronaut costume melted with the dirty flag as his hood. That was badass. My favorite scene was when they first saw how they looked. Everyone was scare of what they have become. Ben's reason for being mad was a great view. This film had potential. Hopefully they move on to the sequel and have Matthew Vaughn to First Class this shit. Seems like I'll be the only one to buy this film on Steelbook. 2/10

Simple solution: Do X-Men Apocalypse, Wolverine 3 and Fantastic Four 2, then have a crossover movie between the new young X-Men Cast (Mcavoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and the new young kids they've just cast), the F4 and Deadpool where there's some cosmic alternate dimension bullshit battle with Galactus, which results in the F4 and the X-Men's reality changing so they wind up in the MCU reality (so Fox do the same deal Sony have done for Spider-Man). All you gotta do then is recast Wolverine (have him 'die' in the old reality or something and his sacrifice rewarded with reincarnation into a new body or whatever) and have Phase 4 of the MCU be the Marvel regulars dealing with these new guys showing up out of nowhere. THAT is how you top Infinity War.

Granted Miller I think the script was the main culprit; the plot execution, character development, and the antagonist transition to become Doctor Doom was plain weak. Josh Trank seems great on concepts but a poor screenwriter, hence the Max Landis scripting the dialogue for Chronicle. Matthew Vaughn was signed on as producer around the same time Trank was hired to helm the film but I felt that Vaughn should have written the film as well. The film's primary screenwriter is best known for The Lazarus Effect, not quite the caliber writer needed for this property, it seems like Kinberg was brought on to do damage control more so than contribute interesting ideas

I didn't hate it like other people. The biggest problem was the final (only) action scene at the end. Doom looks awful and the part where they defeat him was the stupidest thing ever. He literally shows up and they beat him in like a sec. No suspense whatsoever. It's like I got a plan and boom it is over. If the movie had 30 more minutes for more action it would've been good. I'd give it a 5/10

Personally I think this was better than the previous 2, but it's being judged by different standards.Back when Tim Story's films came out there wasn't the saturation of comic book movies there is now. Not saying this movie would have been thought of as good back then just that with the bar having been set so high by Marvel, and even by Fox themselves with their successful X-Men franchise Fantastic Four was always going to struggle, it has since day one when the cast was announced and it's been an uphill battle with every report or rumour, true or baseless, receiving derision from fans. Could this have been a good film, had the reshoots not happened? We'll never know.

In my opinion they should just make FF into a TV Show. Kind of what Marvel did with Daredevil. I think it would be better and they would have more time to develop the characters and if they keep it 10 episodes or less I believe they'll be able to have better special effects than in the movie.

Imagine if you have an essay assignment that you're into. Maybe a fun, interesting narrative. Maybe the first draft ends up too long. Maybe, after cutting some portions out, it's still a solid piece. But WAIT, the teacher doesn't get what you're doing (though your friends and other people due) and has you trim the thing (no pun intended) and change things. Now, both of you realize that the final product is downright horrible and the grade is very low. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT FANT4STIC IS! I didn't watch the movie, but that's what the movie sounds like!

I had a lot of fun with the previous movies. Aside from their Doom being kinda dumb, and the effects being poor, those two movies are ones I can stick on, watch, and be moderately entertained, or at least amused. They also have a beginning, middle and end that can be determined by more than just looking at what time it is on my clock. But I have heard this movie has bad effects, no fun, a worse "Doom" and pacing/story that is so bad/flat that the term "story arc" has no meaning. Guess I will maybe see it with lowered expectations. Maybe.

I just watch Fantastic Four this afternoon and it was good. Me and four others went to see it and we all enjoyed this movie. This was a good movie, not great. I personally think FF is better then Mad Max and at the same level as Jurassic World. I encourage people to watch this movie and make up their own opinions and not be sheep and follow the crowd. Give this movie a chance. I give this 7/10 stars. I really don't understand the hype about Mad Max and Jurassic World. After watching those movies, they were good but I didn't think there were great like the hype.

I didn't think too much of Mad Max so I would agree to how much it made. The fast pace was fun for like 5 minutes. Afterwards, its became a bore. Too much of a good thing is bad. As the Syndrome from the Incredibles once said, "if everyone's super no one is" That is true for a full fast past movie. If everything in a movie is fast pace, after a while nothing is.

I don't get why everyone is saying give the rights back to marvel?, marvel have no plans of including any of these characters in there movies (maybe galactus big maybe), hence the reason why they cut the comics. This film honestly had so much promise the cast was great, but I don't get why they didn't just copy the style of first class how, they did there origin story, or include a x men cameo.i loved chronicle and the development they did in that film I don't get why that couldn't be replicated in this film if they wanted a darker tone, I honesty wanted this film to succeed but I guess it wasn't meant to be :(

Yoki Moki, because they can be use in the phase 4 of marvel, since Chris Evans and Robert Downey contrats end with ifinity war, its true that marvel phase 3 have a lot of characters and movies since the inclusion of spiderman, but they can appeared as cameos or as suporting cast with no power and with the end of phase 3 they can get their own movie but not an origin movie just like spiderman. and in my humble opinion the cast was not great with the exception of michael b jhordan but not as a poorly written human torch or in a fantastic four movie, i would like see him as mutant like cloak from cloak and dagger, and even the actor of doctor doom Tobby Kebell wants that doom fight the avengers

Timothy Bradford to be fair the ultimate version isn't that great but I get that Trank wanted it to be its own take. Problem is: this felt like a Chronicle sequel, not a Fantastic 4 movie at all. I liked Chronicle a lot and I would have rather liked Landis and Trank teaming up for another one than this piece of steaming rubbish.

Man. I never thought this movie was gonna be good, but plenty of bad blockbusters have gone on to be successful (Looking at you Iron Man 3. Sorry everyone, but thats another story for another time.) But hot damn I was expecting a hell of a lot more than 26 Million on opening weekend. Both Fox AND Trank dropped the ball in a sewer. Watched it last night. Not great, but not as bad Green Lantern. Honestly it looked like a pilot episode for a Netflix series, where the story will be filled in over 12 more episodes. But as a feature film it just seems lame and uneventful. Not painful to watch, just MEH!

Fox just can't seem to find the right balance between fun and seriousness with the Fantastic 4. The old movies try to be fun, but they end up being so cheesy and dumb, and then from what I hear this is just not fun at all. I think that Marvel Studios could handle this property better than Fox did, but I'm just kinda not into the idea of it anymore.

ColliderVideos for someone who couldn't care less about the comics of Fantastic Four and knows little about their story, and could care less about any changes to the characters... is this movie any good? I usually enjoy movies/shows that other people don't enjoy... "usually" not always. that said I liked/enjoyed the previous F4 movies until they brought in "galactus" which was just shameful... but either way, with the fact that i liked those films... would i enjoy this new one? for the record I'm a hardcore X-men/Mutant comic fan, but do not like the movies at all!

The Titan List i dont think so, the problem is that the movie it's too boring, there's too much exposition that's never mentioned again, ben grimm and doom aren't in the movie for almost half of the lenght of the movie, the special effects look like something out of the green lantern, there's little to no action scenes, the dialogue is very bland and they keept this scenes of "unconfortable pauses" for far too long (there wasn't a punch line or anything) but you may like it if you diss the x men movies so who knows?

Marco Clarke This really sucks too. I was REALLY a big fan of Trank's after Chronicle and was looking forward to his second movie. His take on Fantastic Four sounded so interesting and I was rooting for the movie to succeed even though I knew it probably wasn't going to, especially since I was pissed at the pointless adoption angle and all the set rumors worried me. But maybe Trank wasn't ready for a movie like this. Or maybe, this type of movie isn't for him. Hopefully, he bounces back and can do more original projects because he was never fit for Fantastic Four in the first place. Hopefully, Marvel gets the rights back and does it justice sometime in the next decade.
