It was interesting to hear Cillian's point of view not only on the film but also the impact of the novella on him as well as on the people of Ireland. Indeed a thought provoking novella. Cillian is right when he said that it has an element of universality so it should have a larger audience base.

It's funny how people can talk about doing good or what is right while rejecting any framework of morality, or not realizing the morality they admire so much comes from a culture or religion they completely reject

It was the job of the Ben Affleck/ Matt Damon production studio to achieve global distribution and the widest possible US and European, Australasia theatre release with the promo required - what the F have they done for this film in marketing terms - its being sold off the back of Cillian alone it seems. Bet its not " elugible" for major awards thru lack of distribution. Irish stories tend to escape, rather than be released. Colonial film industry gatekeeping.
