Gordonseries385: Agreed: The meter can take the punishment but excessive grid current, which in turn can cause high screen current, can be very hard on the pair of 4CX250B finals in the KWS-1. And yes..Great sounding CW. 73

Wonderful station! I may be wrong, but I think there is a chance you may be overdriving your TX a bit, as the grid current is apparently pretty high so the needle is hitting the upper stop of your scale as you transmit. I believe grid current at 3/4 or about of the scale would already mean full power out on CW mode. Just guessing... and compliments again! 73 EA4BB
