Brilliant video I really like that radio what you where using and the morse code sounded really good as well and your antenna looks great and you made a contact with just 1 watt is incredible for QRP it's really amazing what you can do with just a couple of Watts on the HF bands will get you around the world. 73 everyone good luck everybody. Very fine ! I have also a Torn.Fu.b1 in my - small - collection, also the original antenna, but not the accessorie tornister. I heard my CW signals - very weak - from the web-sdr in Twente in the Netherlands, 660 km from my QTH, but the antenna I used was a dipole for 80 m. It would be interresting, if we could make a CW-contact with both Fub1 in the wintertime. 73 and good luck OE5AWL Gust

It is a low rod antenna with top-capacity (4 short rods)

Servus Jimmy ! Ich habe 2 von den Dingern und beide laufen. Allerdings ist einer davon modifizeirt, er hat in der PA nicht die RL4,8P15, sondern 2 Stk RL12P10, die ja auch leichter zu beschaffen sind. 73 de oe5awl Gust (weiden1@aon.at)

Amazing antenna constraction! 😍 German technique. Why don't we have these Röhr-technique, instead of those ridiculously long / big wire antennas?? 🤭

The ground radials help a lot . Plus the location in the relatively noise free area in the jungle.

Nice radio. Not a superhet as the allies would have been able to track the radiation from the local oscillator.
@jimmyharris14816 жыл бұрын
Not true ! The schematic tells me it is a superhet... :-) And I had one 58 years ago... :-)
@KB4QAA5 жыл бұрын
Ian; 1. incorrect, it is a superhet. 2. Irrelevant since the oscillator might only be detected at very short ranges perhaps less than 1/2 kilometer at best. 3. Once it transmits, it is already detectable. 4. This radio set was never meant to be used covertly by spies.
