@@Southernrefinish88 I think that about right. Other drivers insurance paid just over $3k to replace and paint one side of bed of my steel crew cab Silverado. At a dealership/ awesome work though

Saw a late model Chevrolet p/u today with rusted out rear fender wells. My 04 Dodge Ram diesel that I sold had rust in many places. Like my Ford F150 And wont have to worry about It rusting.

What hit it? A smart car or tractor trailer? Not sure how I feel about all these modern materials. I want mine build like an army tank. I'll pay a little more for gas to have a solid impact zone on my truck so they will know they hit something. Just my view. I like a metal box around me.

I do like Ford pickups but that small repair on a steel body would be pulled out and som body filler and you would be all set. Replacing a bed side for that small repair is crazy. Not sure I would go with a new Ford.

I am experiencing this issue now. A rear end impact crumpled a small section of the bed and now the body shop is replacing it with an entirely new bed.

First thought don't buy a Ford made from aluminum. I work in the industry.

@@kendawson9165 How ironic? no one builds a complete truck out of aluminum except Ford. Perhaps you need to do more research. GM Dodge have a few parts like tail gate only . Not a full bed and body.
