Great stuff thanks. The K200's look great. I wonder for how many more years they will be around before they get legislated away so that in the future they evolve to be no more than 'Kenworthized' DAF cabovers? Also, whoever makes those curtain sided trailers gets the curtains to fit so well. Many trailers in Europe have curtains that are nowhere near as tidy, taut and uniform as these. 👍

Long-nose prime-movers are the rule in Aussie (where B-doubles and semis are King), because of their more comfortable ride over longer distances on straighter roads. Try driving long distance on a Freightliner Argosy cabover and, you'll find out why it's called 'The Bone Shaker.' Though it's rare to see cab-overs doing long haul in Aussie, their numbers are a lot less than here in New Zealand, for the simple fact that cab-overs are better suited to windier roads and hill climbs. Due to the shorter length of a cabover, long and heavy loads can be carried within the overall length of the different trailer combinations. Though the newer 'Super-B' (our equivalent of the Aussie B-Double) has probably surpassed the older NZ 'B-Train', it's still common to see 'Truck & Trailers' and 'Semis' on NZ roads. For American 'Truckers', we Kiwi 'Truckies' don't count every single tyre on a prime-mover and semi-trailer combo and call it an '18 Wheeler.' If that were the case here in NZ, we'd end up calling a Kiwi semi, a '22, 26 and 28 Wheeler (tandem Steer)', because three and four axles on semis, have taken over the older 2-axle setup. The semi axles on NZ semi-trailers, are positioned much closer to the 'Fifth Wheel' on the primer (than in the US), because of the much tighter turning arc on NZ's windy roads. Finally, if you see NZ trucks or prime-movers with tandem (twin steering) plus double drive axles, we call that setup an '8 Wheeler.' We don't count all 12 tyres, because you might have 'Super Singles' on your rear axles.

Yip….NZ could well do…. except for the standard K200 steering wheel coz in one’s hands they feel like poo, as well as that and there lack of practicality to! topped off with 4 spokes and a huge hub hindering hands and limiting gauges view. Just shared thoughts personally speaking from someone who’s trucked his whole life through.🥴🚛

Now…I’ve learnt of some other stuff…about ‘us’ as in people….and labelled ‘Poet’ having published two books and speak at events as I’m invited to. Trucks…good grief…one kinda toy…or machine if you like…now it’s a case of personally sharing experience, to simply help and be of benefit. Kia ora

@ aaah no Scania man actually…delivered them cab n chassis new Nationwide, and worked them like many others hard like me vigorously, and every other make truckin like others like me for nearly half a century. "New Zealand Has The Best Looking K200 Kenworths In The Whole World". Considering the "Whole World" doesn't get K200's and they are made in Australia, that's a massive call. There is also a huge amount more K200's pulling much bigger combinations in Australia. Typical of NZ to claim it is the best though.

A lot of the logging trucks in New Zealand are long nose and thoses drivers speed around thoses bends fully loaded its pretty scary being behind them and in front of them .I think it's the drivers preference why their are a lot of cabovers. Their ain't really that many major trucking companies in Nzl anyway that buy a fleet of the same trucks anymore.
