As a black gay man myself I'm over the moon when I think about what Colman Domingo did to help represent the civil rights contributions of black gay men as Bayard Rustin, along with former President Barack and Michelle Obama making this extra truth happen. This film is so critical with helping people understand that all lives matter. Colman Domingo is also in a interracial relationship as was Bayard Rustin. Coleman's husband Raúl Domingo is also great in my heart with tears and I honor him also because he really kept Colman Domingo going in fighting the good fight (in Rustin & The Color Purple) as my partner (served in the Navy 10 years) did for me with serving in the Air Force for 26 years (both of us as American veterans)

My local ABC station WLPG from Miami, Fl did not show “The View” today. So I came to KZbin to find it. I am so glad I did. Today’s show was so full of love and inspiration by those who have more grace than I could ever have. It gives me hope that one day we can all become better humans and learn to forgive. And I can’t wait to see the movie “Ruskin”.
@LR-mh8hs4 ай бұрын
Do you feel that it was by design that they did not show The View on this special day?
@LRH1434 ай бұрын
@@LR-mh8hs They just wanted to broadcast their own two hour MLK special. Now I do question their time slot decision. Anytime their is a car chase in Miami for example, they break away from “The View” referring to it as breaking news. A car chase in Miami is something that happens almost everyday, far from breaking news. And they do it too often for many irrelevant “breaking news” segments when “The View” is on air.

I can not say enough great things about this movie. I have watched it twice. Coleman blows my mind how good he is. I watch clips of Rustin. He picked up his speech. His manor of movement. His style of being. I knew this story because i have looked into LGBT history that is also overlooked. Also diving deep in to black history. It helps that i live in Jacksonville florida. A. Phillip Randolph went to high school here. The creater of Lift every voice and sing James Weldon Johnson and his brother grew up in Jacksonville. Ray Charles got his musical start here and grew up not far from Jacksonville. It is important to know history. If whoopie wants to produce another great story. Do one on Harry Hayes.
