It's cool to do such a trip with a bunch of people. Even though it has it's advantages, it also has it downside. Advantages has to do with having the company of others which comes in handle specially in a break down, protection, sharing ideas, and having others to help with the planing. I am planing a similar trip through Central and South America on my own. Many other female riders have done it before me and I won't be the last one, I am sure. One huge advantage of solo riding is that you go at your own pace and you can change plans and pick the restaurants you want to eat in and the type of food on the fly without having to get the approval of others. It's a long and lonely road trip, which allows you to do some soul searching and connect to your inner self, nature, and God. At least this is what this trip will be for me. A soul search, discovery, growth, trip. All that while connecting with others and learning about their spiritual and native traditions as I travel along. I would not mind doing the trip with others at the most two other people, as long as they have the same intend for the trip. But too many people it starts taking away from the purpose of what I want.

Really good addition to your great channel. Looks like I will have to spring for the “purchased” version on Vimeo as the YT advertising algorithms have become almost intolerable and very disruptive to the creative flow of your production.

I really enjoyed the video. I have a question. Was Jim Hyde wearing a red t-shirt with Che Guevara’s picture on the front?

I saw that too. This is where the adventure ended for me. Anyone that thinks Guevara is someone to be honored by wearing a shirt with his likeness, is a fool.

Here's what too many hands in the pot meet reality. If you find a good company to rent from and then get a sim with data, you can have a great time at 1/4 of the price or more.

I've made this comment on your solo camping series and I'll say it again here. I really wish you would put a little "outro" at the end of you video so we know when it has ended. I'm watching, I'm getting into it, I'm digging it and am entranced, than BAM!! Like a slap on the head, all of a sudden KZbin goes into another video. C'mon man. You're being paid to provide a professional project. Put a little outro at the end. Too bad I will probably never get to do something like this, but I really wish I could. Much love the the entire CREW!!

Great story, and great story telling. 3:00 - What's the deal with the Che T shirt? Is Colin a socialist? If so, you guys should have spent some time in Venezuela so he could experience socialism first hand.
@chipm254410 ай бұрын
I saw that too! What in the world?! Why would anyone, especially someone who believes in freedom & right, wear such a thing?! One in four Venezuelans have left that country for reasons. This group did not ride through Venezuela, maybe they should.
@Liberty4Ever10 ай бұрын
@@chipm2544 - I hate to see people romanticizing and idolizing a vicious murderer such as Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Maybe Colin is wearing the Che shirt as a reference to Che taking a motorcycle trip through South America prior to becoming a communist revolutionary, but given the death and human suffering inflicted on the world by communism, it's an oddly inappropriate tribute.

I love your videos. But I will be frank that if you ride a BMW, make sure you stay on the tarmac. Because only idiots took the huge BMW off road.

C'mon guys, you paid these poverty-stricken locals a measly $4 a bike for a cleaning...you can do better than that. Pathetic.
@SterlingNoren3 жыл бұрын
We told them we would pay them whatever they asked for and that was the price they set. They seemed very happy when we left. By way of comparison I paid $500 to have my bike with the broken clutch hauled out of the mountains in Peru on a truck that was already going the direction we were headed with an empty cargo bed. They could have done it for free but I gave them $500 which, some would say, I got ripped off. I didn't mind because it solved my problem in a very expedient fashion. Of course, I don't like to always just use money to solve problems,, but in a group scenario with a timeline it was the best course of action. So perhaps some of the locals are overpaid and some underpaid. It all evens out in the end.

A group of hideously rich guys on a fully supported vacation. NOT ADV riding. If you want to see ADV riding, look at some of the women riding solo around the whole planet. Those are adventure riders. And then you have the nerve to rip off people who’s yearly income is what you spend on a pair of boots.
