About the National Museum in Colombo.
This is the largest museum in Sri Lanka. This is maintained by the Department of National Museum of the central government.
The museum holds contains a collections of much importance to Sri Lanka such as the regalia of the country, including the throne and crown of the Kandyan monarchs as well as many other exhibits telling the story of ancient Sri Lanka.

Not anymore, Previously it was closed on Fridays because of cleaning & maintenance procedures. Upcoming weekends are filled with customers so it has to be clean & ready. Thats why it was closed on Fridays.

@@nishanthimala7991 that's not the reason.you know why is the land forthe museum was gifted by a Muslim Wapichchi marikkar.Therefore it's closed on Fridays by request of the land owner gifted as to respect him that's only the reason

@@mizranhassan6286 no you are wrong.its not closed on Fridays anymore.it used to closed on Fridays for cleaning & maintenance.but nowadays it not closed on Fridays. It wasn't donated by someone. The realated person you are talking about is one of the contractor. Come to museum & see it for yourself. There's a name plate
