🔴Colon cancer (also known as colorectal cancer) is among the top 3 cancers worldwide. Because of that, many screening tests have been developed to catch colon cancer early. In addition to screening tests, it is essential for us to be familiar with colon cancer symptoms. In the present video we plan to go over 6 early signs and symptoms of colorectal cancer. Besides, several important questions about colorectal cancer are answered:
1️⃣ There are many screening tests for large bowel cancer. So, is it still necessary to know colon cancer signs and symptoms❓
ABSOLUTELY yes, we explain why everyone is supposed to be familiar enough with colorectal cancer symptoms.
2️⃣ Is cancer location important❓
In general, large intestine cancers are classified into right (proximal) and left (distal). This classification is clinically very important since proximal and distal colon cancers are different in their presenting symptoms. In this video we briefly talk about their differences.
3️⃣ What is the most common sign of colon cancer❓
There are 6 relatively common symptoms and some other uncommon, bizarre ones. Among all symptoms, there is a very common sign we will talk about.
4️⃣ Since iron deficiency anemia is common in colon cancer, do all patients with iron deficiency anemia need colonoscopy❓
absolutely Don't. only 2 groups need colonoscopy we will talk about.
🔴 So if you want to learn more about Early signs and symptoms of colon cancer, smash the play button ▶️ ASAP:

Folks, being a man and rather shy about medical exams regarding colons and prostates, just get the exams done. Wishing away symptoms or simply ignoring them is foolish and selfish. Always remember the gift of life and that these tests can save you years though early detection and prevention. Live to be in your 70's and more if you detect these diseases early rather than die in your 50s and 60's. Really the tests are easy.

Yes. My Dad practically ate whole bottles of Tums and stool softeners thinking that his ''stomach'' pain was the problem. By the time we got him to a doctor, he was stage 4 and died 6 months later. All because he didn't want to outlive my Mom who had COPD and died 9 months before him. Get the colonoscopy-it isn't as bad as you think. Miss you Mom and Dad.

Same for me. I was diagnosed at age 63. I was stage 2A and they removed about 12 inches of my colon one year ago. No bag. Just had my first follow up colonoscopy on Monday and cancer free. I did the mail in test. It was easy and it came back positive. The colonoscopy detected a large tumor and it was malignant. But it hadn’t spread. TAKE THE TEST! Early detection is key.

Colonoscopies aren't that bad. You do a day of prep which sucks but on the day of the procedure you check in to the facility, get gowned, do a little paperwork, lie down in a gurney, they put you out and next thing you know you're waking up and getting ready to go back home! It's so relieving to get a clean bill of health afterwards.

I had two Colonoscopies so far, 5 years from each other. I will go for my next one 5 years from now. They found two small polyps during my first colonoscopy, but none in the second one. My plan is that if they find many polyps all of a sudden, which I doubt might happen, I will choose to remove my entire colon. I want to live in this cruel, but sweet world. I have read that people can live without their colon. My mother had colon cancer.

Yes you definitely can live without your colon... But it's not reasonable to do so because every abdominal surgery produces lots of adhesion bands, increasing the risk of intestinal obstruction. That's why no surgeon accepts to do so.

My oncologist said, " Never remove healthy tissues " !!! I had one breast removed around the time Angelina Jolie was having both her healthy breasts removed to avoid getting cancer. Women ask to have both breasts removed, when only one is cancerous. My Dr. completely disagrees with the removal of healthy tissue. I look at it like this: where will it end? My mother had bladder cancer so remove my bladder!

I know I have too much bile and possibly from consuming too much fat. It's still a problem 7 mo later after cutting out some fat. I have a bunch of neuro symptoms similar to a hyper thyroid, and I wonder if there's anything that can be done to eliminate bile. I take excellent care of my health including zero sugar, all organic low carb, trying hard to gain weight I've lost without an appetite (consuming shakes). I'm relentless and have improved half way but wonder if it's due to too much bile. I'll do anything to the extreme and I will get well, just looking for more answers. When I've taken a coffee enema I get mucous and Iwipe yellow - is that a bad sign? Sorry to be graphic.

I've lost 20 pounds over the past 12 months and am having recurrent black stools (not tarry or narrow but dark black stools) off and on for the past 6 months. For two weeks in August, I had dark black stools at every bowel movement. I'm high risk for colonoscopy and am beyond scared to get one. The pain in my abdomen and off and on nausea is getting worse. I was just diagnosed with anemia and know intuitively that I have colon cancer. I just hope it takes me before I start seeing blood everytime I have a bowel movement. How do you say it's colon cancer producing these symptoms without doing colonoscopy? First, although weight loss is so important and basic workup for cancer is absolutely essential it's not always due to cancers. diabetes, hyperactive thyroid and chronic infections can be other causes. Second, Just black, sticky stools with a foul smell is called melena being a sign of GI bleeding. So black stool itself doesn't equal to melena. Many foods and drugs can make stool color dark... Your number one priority should be colonoscopy.

@@healthmakers... Thank you for your response. My primary care physician strongly suspects colon cancer and has recommended upper and lower endoscopy. You’re right, I don’t know for certain that it’s colon cancer. I’ve had uterine cancer surgery immediately followed by emergency perforated bowel surgery, and an emergency bowel obstruction surgery 8 years later. The pain in my abdomen feels exactly like it did prior to these surgeries. I know I need a colonoscopy but have been deemed extremely high risk for perforation. I appreciate your reply...thank you. When my husband went in for a colonoscopy in 2004 to remove the 2 polyps the doctors had found, they told him (and I) that they had gotten the polyp. I said, they were to remove 2 polyps. They told me they had made a mistake in reading the screening, and that there was only one. I said, well that's weird, for I had seen the imaging.I asked them, what if you tried to get the and polyp and didn't, and now its free-floating around in his body? That just wouldn't happen, they replied. Two years later my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and died 2 years after that

I’m not sure what’s going on but 2 days after taking worming tablets a leaf shaped rubbery thing was passed. Have no idea what it is or what’s going on. I’m in Australia and the doctor laughed at me when I asked him if it was an intestinal fluke. Any advice would help thanks

Can you still get normal looking poop with colon cancer or is it always funky looking? I have a colonoscopy booked for june 10. I also have hard lymph nodes for 4 months under one underarm which is being scanned in a couple of weeks. A few months ago I lost a lot of weight without trying but it now is consistent and haven't put it back on but nor have I lost more. Friends, please get in there and get a colonoscopy as soon as you are old enough for your health insurance to cover it, if not sooner. The procedure is really not a big deal. I believe many health plans will actually pay for the whole screening, with no copay. It is just that important to them, and I am sure that their actuaries have calculated the risk of having to pay for cancer treatments vs colonoscopies.

Your symptoms are typical for hemorrhoid. But it's better to do at least rectosigmoidoscopy. If the rectosigmoidoscopy exam just shows hemorrhoids, no further evaluation is necessary. Plus, Colonoscopy screening should begin at 40 years or 10 years earlier than the earliest case of colon cancer in the family.

But except for that, I don't have any symptoms, except a bit much gases in stomach, causing burping. I will get colonoscopy, but in the mean time I am quite worried. You have iron deficiency state (NOT iron deficiency anemia) which warrants colonoscopy since iron deficiency in men is often due to blood loss from digestive system. BUT this doesn't mean that blood loss is always due to a cancer. polyps, angiodysplasia, hemorrhoids, peptic ulcer, Diverticulosis and many other BENIGN pathologies can cause blood loss. So I have GERD and my esophagus is irritated from the acid I vomit in the mornings when I wake up sometimes it’s clear acid sometimes it’s yellow acid and sometimes it stings really bad than other times . I tend to throw up a lot at work a lot of acid since I do construction and I’m on the run always fast paced environment. There’s time when we eat in lunch and after getting up I feel the food go down to my stomach really fast and I gotta hold it and I get watery diarrhea like explosive diarrhea. And this is everyday especially on hotter days it’s worse . I was taking acid reducer prescribed by dr from Kaiser . I get full fast , bloated mostly every day and so gassy in my stomach and I have stomach pain to . Sometimes I have really puffy soft skinny stool and watery diarrhea they did a endoscopy and removed a small polyp and seen my esophagus was irritated and the rest looked normal . I have a appointment April 14 8:20am for a colonoscopy procedure and I’m kinda scared I might have colon cancer . I’m 24 years young and have a 2yr old daughter and wife . I’m 189lb .they did blood work on me and stool test but haven’t gotten results yet. I also tend to get really fatigue at work I feel heavy heavy no energy so idk if that’s part of the GERD or stomach problems I’m having .
@healthmakers...
@healthmakers... Жыл бұрын
First of all, GERD in your age (especially if causes esophageal erosion known as esophagitis) increases risk of esophageal cancer. So you NEED to take acid reducers for at least 2 months to see if it relieves your symptoms or not. Another beneficial treatment for early GERD is anti-reflux surgery (called fundoplication - make sure to have a conversation with a surgeon or internist doctor on that)... About your stomach polyp, some are benign (like hyperplastic polyps) while others are precancerous or neoplastic (like adenomatous polyps). To realize what kind of polyp you had, pathologist consult is required... and about your diarrhea, colon cancer is rare in your age (only certain familial disorders like FAP, peutz jeghers syndrome, etc develop colon cancer too early). However colonoscopy is surely needed since your diarrhea is persistent and chronic and your stomach polyp may be neoplastic (Neoplastic polyps increase the risk of colon cancer). Other diseases like irritable bowel disease, celiac disease, IBS, etc need to be evaluated (They can cause chronic diarrhea as well). Hope to be healthy in your whole life.

On the 26th of this month I have to go for a Colonoscopy. I'm 43 years old and for the last 15-20 years I have had blood on my stool every once in a while. I have always been told it's just hemorrhoids. Recently I have found it hard to pass stool and every single time there is blood. My stool is normal color, normal smell, but the size and frequency have changed over the past month. I have pain on my far lower left side almost on my side, but no constant aches, or pains in the rest of the abdomen. I'm wondering what you think, do you think there is a good chance it's colon cancer?
@healthmakers...

Bright blood in stool is commonly seen in hemorrhoids BUT more serious conditions like colon polyps and cancers can present with bloody stool too. So you SURELY need to get a colonoscopy ASAP. No one could definitely say you have 100% colon cancer. What's clear is that you do have the red flags, making colonoscopy necessary in your case.

Nearly 90% of constipation cases are functional, meaning you need to consider foods rich in fibers in you daily diet. Besides, many conditions like underactive thyroid, electrolyte disturbances, drugs, anal fissure, IBS, etc can cause constipation. Colorectal cancer can be a cause as well. Honestly you need to make an appointment with a doctor to see why constipated you are.

The most recent episode of this has been within the last 7 days for several occasions of blood in my stool have shown up. Stupid question but should I be worried? What should I do?
@healthmakers...
@healthmakers... 8 күн бұрын
If your problem is passing bright red blood per rectum that's because of your hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoidectomy as well as some lifestyle changes can resolve the issue. BUT if you have iron deficiency anemia as well, then endoscopy needs to be done.

Constipation from IBS-C is a cause of both hemorrhoids and anal fissure (top 2 common causes of fresh blood in stool). if your problem is bright blood on toilet paper that's probably due to hemorrhoid or fissure. However, it's better to consult with a GI specialist since rectal issues can cause bloody stool as well.

Hi.... Sorry to be so late... Changes in bowel habit needs to be evaluated in your case. It can be due to functional constipation (most common cause in your age), anal fissure, thyroid dysfunction, serum calcium changes, anismus (Dyssynergic defecation), etc. Better to have an appointment with your doctor. Also better not to use laxative without medical consult. taking fiber-rich foods like beans, fruits and leafy greens can be as effective as laxative.

Hi Doc/Sir. I’m experiencing some of the signs and symptoms in you video. I’m 26 y/o It’s started in January 1, at first I feel something in my left part abdomen a feeling of pricked by a needle. Then a few days I got constipated and it’s hard to poop. So I go to a clinic to see a doctor and it was just say it’s constipation. I still feel the pain all over my abdomen and feeling bloated. but I can make poop now. Narrow sometimes and sometimes it’s looks normal. It’s 1 month now and 3days, until now I still feel pain in my left-between-right from time to time. But the pain is not that much hurt compare from the last month (January). I also feel tired sometimes and sometimes I have good energy. I feel that I’m not bloated now. It’s feels normal. I don’t see any blood in my poop. Thank you Doc/Sir. I hope you reply sir, It means to me 🥺 This sick give me stress. Help me sir. 🙏🏼🇵🇭

Feeling pain in lower areas of abdomen has many causes. Constipation can cause abdominal pain itself. However other conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, etc are likely too. Colon cancer in your age is very rare. Only individuals with a strong family history (like FAP disease) may develop colon caner in your age. Any way, FIRST fix your constipation. If the abdominal pain persists, you need to see your doctor again (In this case, lab tests and sonography are helpful). Sorry for delay friend, Hope to be healthy in your whole life. if you have any other question, let me know.

Don't blame anyone but your own self if you die from medical related diagnosis. If you are afraid of the Vax that's fine its not something you have to take but keep in mind you would rather take a for example,, horse medicine than have a simple blood test or procedure to see if you have cancer? @@doloresleyva8810 good point. However why not just cycle several different antithelmics on a monthly rotational basis of say 3 days consecutive dosing per month. Or perhaps every 2 months? The doctor can only help with diagnosis. Suggestions as to dosing he would not help with as horse and dog antithelmics are not on his prescription schedule. And it seems moot almost to see a physician for treatment of cancer as the treatment I am thinking of is like a good diet with intermittent fasting. Given FDA and USDA regs something that needs incorporated into my regimen anyway.
