While I don't doubt that some of those bugs played a part in the rapid failure I also suspect the Colonels regular bull in a china shop way of playing acted a multiplier to greatly accelerate the process.

The AI pathing and some quality of life features are missing. The inability to control stockpiles or create duty rosters makes it a bit unplayable.

Duty rosters! Oh boy is that ever needed. I'm quite happy for supply people to be "wait your turn" but not being able to assign critical rooms personnel is a big problem.

I've got high hopes for this in the future, but it needs to fix the bugs, and then take a leaf out of Rimworld's playbook and give you better control on how your crew prioritise jobs. And let you rename the crew so that you can start to remember who does what. And when hope runs out, they should start having mental breakdowns in an interesting fashion, not just game over. But if they can add that level of control, it could become great!

2:36 A personality crisis, if you will. From how many people seem to have issues with it, I'd say they got it while it was hot. You know, I'd reckon the people talking about things needing to burn, the others talking about the atmosphere becoming unbreathable, the one fellow who mentioned fire control, and the scorched walls being repaired near the place with all the bodybags? I reckon that might suggest a story of what was going on elsewhere on the ship. Not that you would've been able to do much about it, mind, since I imagine the floor's fire marshall was somewhere in the middle of the pack.

Well, its still Early Acess. The priority system does not work at all and its hard to tell why they do one work before the other. But there is some hope since the developers already releases 2 patches and promised to continue working on the artificial stupidity.

Huh.. that actually seemed like it wasn't your fault. But it also seems like a game with a load of potential. I hope the Devs will watch this, learn and get back to work. And maybe the Colonel could come back to it when it's done, to show of the masterpiece this might have become. But maybe they should just hand development over to VuVu :)

It seems like to me to be something like the Sims, but in Space and with a timer that never goes away. And should your crew not be happy they just turn into a useless bunch and then its impossible to fix anything because they just wont work. Definitely need rosters, or some way to say "yoohoo, go sit there and make jumplight". For me at least in the early access version that is in these videos, the timer appears to be too short. This wasnt even on hard, it was on normal, but I feel like I would get very frustrated very quickly because the crew just dont want to do whats needed. Perhaps the way to win this game is to just focus mostly on producing jumplight fuel to jump further faster so you can complete the missions get resources then build the comfort. But then i assume the crew would spit the dummy about not being comfortable.

Unfortunately Steam's countdown only updates approximately hourly so when I saw it said 5 hours I looked at my watch and saw it was 9:29 so I am guessing it will unlock at 1:00 P.M.

My interest in this game evaporated faster than the contents of your hope meter. Don't mind the bugs so much, but... Spoiler ahead for those who haven't watched the video yet ...having a game over screen just because the hope meter hit an arbitrary value... no, just... no. There's a reason that the motto for the granddaddy of survival/colony management games is "LOSING IS FUN". A good chunk of what makes these games compelling is trying to salvage something of value when it all goes wrong, and getting to see the consequences of your failure, so that you can say "Next time it will be different." only to then fail in entirely new and exciting ways.

@CF the devs just said that in the future you will be able to click on a crew member and as the Captain you can click on several options like 'someone pick this person up.' You will also be able to click on the power generator and select an immediate order to refuel the thing! Just the sort of thing you keep mentioning so you don't feel like spacing the entire crew.

Not sure I approve of that as anything more than a quick fix. Quite happy for the crew to perish because of my own mismanagement, but purposefully placing then feels a bit of a cheat. I'll wait and see how it plays out.
