A man of your caliber could've kept your genius to yourself but you chose to educate us all around the world for free. I have ADHD so sometimes there is a risk of me not understanding based on how something is explained, especially with my ever-waning attention span but how you explained it was perfect and EXACTLY what I am looking for. Thank you for sharing this. You saved me a lot of Googling

@@masoodraja You're so welcome! Will do... i am doing an assignment using the concepts post-colonialism and colonial discourse in regards to Australia and aboriginal treatment .... is colonial discourse very different to orientalism in your opinion?
@masoodraja4 жыл бұрын
In my opinion orientalism is a form of colonial discourse, as it creates the image of native people according to the discourse produced by colonizers and in your case settler colonizers. For your research, you might also want to look up settler colonialism. I have not done a video on it, but I will try to record one soon. Good luck with your project.

Thank you so much sir could you please explain about Gramsci Hegemony theory and how it was influenced on Edward said
@masoodraja4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I am not sure about Gramsci’s influence on Saeed’s larger work. He does use Gramsci to explain the need for creating a “catalogue of history”. You can find that on KZbin if you do a search for Orientalism. There is a video based on Said’s interview about orientalist. For Hegemony please watch my this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKK7nGyOfLOimc0

Can it be applied to contemporary South Asian Fiction. In a sense, like focussing only on how these counties either resist or become part of larger colonial power or in orther words still under the colonial power and the like.
@masoodraja3 жыл бұрын
Yes, certainly. You can argue that the legacies or influence of colonial discourse is still operative.
