If we learn how to live on the Moon and Mars, Titan will be a piece of cake. Hopefully we find a better form of space travel, so it doesn't take so long to get there. Yep it's cold, but even on Mars you have to live in a habitat of some sort. You are not going to be running around and breathing on the surface on any of them anyway. I say just drag Venus to a further orbit where it can cool off and you will have a planet the right size, gravity and all to terraform into a new Earthlike planet.

Sun is very dim on Saturn and it's moons, the sun's output would be the same as an Annular eclipse of the Sun (>95% obscured) here on Earth, as seen from sunrise/sunset. Even if Titan has the same condition as earth, it would still suck to have no photosynthesis or similar process to sustain life.

Louie John Castillo, plus those nasty cosmic rays, and other forms of radiation, which never get mentioned on the likes of Star Trek and Star Wars.
@Snowwie883 жыл бұрын
You forgot to mention that because Titan has this thick atmosphere we don't have to worry about deadly solar radiation, cosmic radiation or the need of building pressurized domes. All things that are required on Mars. Furthermore the atmosphere of Titan lends perfectly for transport, and, with some wings strapped to your arms you can fly yourself. (This is due to the low gravity and the thick atmosphere). Compare that with 'flying' underwater in a swimming pool here on Earth. The only thing remaining is 100% insulation against the cold. So. Oxygen tank and a solid insulation suit and you can walk freely on Titan. Or make it even more interesting to see whether a human in THOSE conditions could actually swim in liquid Methane.

@@MG-er6dm The truth is that the moon has around 1/6th, the gravity of earth and Mars has 38% the gravity of earth! Test after test has shown that the human body can not function over longer periods of time, causing bone loss and weakening of the heart and the muscle tissue.! Vigorous daily exercise helps, but only delays the inevitable! It is the 500 pound gorilla in the room that everyone ignores! Elon Musk or Bezos never brings it up, for obvious reasons! Going to the moon or Mars is one thing, a colony is something else entirely! Any colony on the moon would have to have constant inhabitant rotation! Then there is the six month trip to Mars with no gravity, then the 38% of gravity of Mars! A actual colony on Mars is even crazier then a colony on the moon! Investing in a Mars colony would be stupid, unless one arranges that if the colony fails, they get the investment returned! As long as Elon was doing it with his own money, then that's great, but he has already gotten the government involved, meaning that the tax payers, those that actually pay taxes, are going to be the losers, while the big private investors can take the looses off their taxes, assuming that they are actually paying taxes, while the US is not over $27 TRILLION in debt and GROWING!

Not gravity. Not cost. Nothing but succeeding - no matter. And so, with so much money behind Elon, along with so many unwavering believers, it almost seems it can't but succeed.
