Can’t wait to get mine. Meeting with the surgeon I’ve been referred to in a month. Update: Now Sitting in the bed 12 hours after the placement of my brand new AMS 700 LGX and am currently 12 hours post placement. When I woke up it Hurt! But pain is under control now. I’m sure I’ll experience a bit more before I get over the hump. I am so happy that I didn’t chicken out and cancel at last moment. It’s done and I have a Brand New Penis that will once again work. @@alexc7242 i had ED for 12 years during which I relied on meds. they worked but toward the end I was noticing that I couldn't eat anything before or have any alcohol and I noticed that generic viagra wasn't as effective. what really prompted me to action was watching Dr Paul Peritos video series on implants where he discusses tissue atrophy from ED - shrinking penis. the only way to stop that is a penile implant. it's due to hypoxia of the corpora cavernosa - lack of oxygenated blood that leads to fibrosis. once I knew this I took about 6 months to really understand all the risks AND the benefits, scheduled a office consult with him and got scheduled for surgery. my insurance company covered it. my only concern beforehand was infection and size. he has an extremely low infection rate - below 1% which is due to his years of experience. as far as irreversible, yes it is, but honestly I would never consider removing it and have no regrets, it works that great.

@@alexc7242 my advice is search youtube for penile implant urologists that specialize in it. other urologists may know how to perform the op but I only trusted Dr P once I realized the sheer volume of implants he performs. guys fly in from other countries for implants by him. there are others as well out there. Dr Eid in Boston. there's a doc in Birmingham and another in Baltimore. I watched all their videos to learn as much as I could.

I have had both the AMS and the Coloplast and I prefer the Titan, the AMS always just felt too small and not has hard when fully inflated. Besides the AMS failed after about 7 or 8 years and had to be redone, that was why I asked for the Titan the second time around.

I totally agree, The Titan is a superior product. I had to get use to the dog ears upon deflating, but the rigidity of the device is Better than any AMS product.

I have had both the AMS 700 and the Coloplast Titan. The AMS went flat (leaked) after about 8 years, otherwise it was good. When they revised it they put in the Titan and I was happier with that size-wise, it is just a little wider, hardly noticeable really but I did. One thing I did not like about the Titan is the squeeze bulb, it is much stiffer and requires more vigorous pumping which hurts because of the scaring on the scrotum. I do have a serious dog ear (if you take a drinking straw and bend it over you will see what that means, there is a noticeable bump sticking out where the bend keels over) and that becomes quite painful when clothing rubs on the skin over the dog ear. the only way to avoid that is to pump to the point where if you were nude people would say you have a "semi." if you have a larger penis as I do that is quite embarrassing (The doctor said well laughed when I said I had lost almost two inches, he said one maybe, but what he doesn't know is I made a plaster replica of it prior to the operation using the last of my Alprostadil which worked like magic but the price went through the roof for Caverject when it came off patent, they would not supply it anymore, hence the operation). Requires more hiding it. The bump is only on the right and I think it was that way because I had a slight curve to the right the surgeon wanted to straighten some. But you get a pair of Levi's rubbing on it all day from walking and you will not be happy.

My AMS also failed, not all in one night, but over a couple weeks, like it had a slow leak and there was less and less fluid in the reservoir. I went with the Titan and am happier with it. It is the better choice IMO.

I had the AMS 700 implanted about three years ago. From the beginning it was very difficult to deflate although the erections were ok. A year after the Implant the Dr. checked and concluded that it would only permit for a 60% deflation, as time passed by erections diminished in size let alone girth. It's been three and a half years and I only get about 15% inflation. Dr.s opinion that the AMS700 was defective from the beginning. I am strongly looking at the Coloplast

Surgeons will always minimize the pain that you WILL experience. Extreme pain for a good month, then another 3 months of soreness and sensitivity. Also be prepared mentally - You WILL lose significant length, 1 to 2 inches. Doctors shouldn't disregard those that have had negative experiences. Its tremendously painful. Post recovery is no picnic either , you have to keep it erect / semi hard for a month after the surgery otherwise it will point down and not up . Note : The Coloplast Titan is very hard to deflate you need significant strength to do so.

What’s your experience with scarred corpora after infection after a surgeon messed up? I had heavy bleeding from the scrotum and your videos helped me realize something was wrong. Prompt treatment was not initiated resulting in adhered tissue to the pump and a torn urethra during salvage. Everything was removed and a malleable was not inserted which is detrimental. I had a catheter for 6 weeks, a retrograde urethragram, pain 10 out of 10, and a VCUG upon removal of the catheter. My penis now buried, except for the glands penis from implant removal. Research indicates that revisions after an infection are only 50 percent successful. Is this true? My primary concern is ending up with a lifelong catheter, as I am blind and mobility would be difficult. I have been using a VED, along with manual stretching to try to keep the tissues somewhat healthy along with tissue massage. Recently, I’ve noticed the VED is very painful. I have had aches in the penis and a slight burning sensation when urinating. If the fat pad is pushed back, I have an SPL of slightly over 4 inches. The condition causing my blindness also lead to my ED since birth. I’m hoping you can offer some insight. Thanks and keep up the good work.

How hard do you need to push the button on either model? Does it click? Once you locate the button, is it basically in the same location? For example facing forward or to the body.

The button does not click. The pump of the implant can move around once placed. If you are having problems locating the orientation of the pump, you should talk to your surgeon so that they can help you. Remember, almost everyone struggles at first. Good luck

How does this compare to a normal fully functioning penis. Is this a viable option for fully functioning men who just want the ability to have full control over their erections to either extend sex sessions or be able to contine sex after orgasm to create multiple orgasm sessions?

With all the failure rates and redos, if you have a normal functioning penis, just use a pump and 2 or 3 rings. Surgeries predispose you to more problems. If the surgeon messes your urethra up during the procedure, you can have a life long problem and end up with a catheter in your belly to pee. A surgeon 28 years ago did that to my current husband. He damaged his urethra so a subsequent accident and heart surgery caused him to not be able to pee. He had to have a suprapubic catheter for 6 1/2 years. The Cleveland Clinic doctor said she couldn't take out the stint the original doctor put in after he messed up his urethra. She said she would need to take it all out and give him a side bag, meaning removal of prostate and the ability to have sex. He refused. By the grace of God we found Dr. Billy Cordon who was able to do what she said was impossible. He reconstructed his urethra and he no longer has the knife stabbing pain and infections that he endured for the last 1 1/2 years with the suprapubic catheter. If you're young don't do a penile implant for control, it just sets you up for problems and then the possibility of needing to go through the surgery to replace it every few years. My husband also had AMS fail after 6 months, with the lifetime waranty he redid the surgery and 2 months after use the AMS failed again. He went back to the pump with the implant device still in. He should have stuck to the pump and never done the implant. He probably would have never had scar tissue that led to the suprapubic catheter being necessary.

I had coloplast titan implant 6 weeks ago, and it is not comfortable at all when flaccid, and i am thinking of having the surgery again and getting an AMS 700 CX, Any advice? (penis 6 inches long and 4.4 inches girth)

Sir may I ask, when referring to the lengths, is that entire length outside the body or is some inside? Would the size therefore be based on original penile length or original length plus some part inside the body? Thank you.

I have had the Titan implant for about 3 months now. I have to say a few things about the implant you might want to know about. First, it is not a problem to inflate the device, but to deflate the divice is a real pain!!! The device will definitely not do anything at all for your girth or length, so don't get it into your mind that it will! It will make your penis somewhat strighter, but it will not completely straighten your penis! I guess if you are completely ED, then it is a good product for you. If you still can get a erection with medication but want to straighten out your penis I highly recommend not getting divice and just doing corrective surgery. I have to say I am very unsatisfied with the titan, and it is very uncomfortable, IMO. I would not recommend this divice! 😢

Hi Dr Clavell! I hope you’re well. Hoping you can answer a simple question for me. I’m in my late 30s and I believe this would benefit my life immeasurably. I would only have this surgery and replacements with a top implant surgeon such as yourself. In such patients who receive an implant around my age, do *most* follow the typical trend of 8 years then replace, get another 8 or so years, replace and so on.. or would they be likely to have an implant along the way that fails early? I guess I’m just asking about what the *typical* pathway and life for a patient in my age group would look like. I know implants can fail or god forbid, become infected but do most patients have quote unquote plain sailing for the rest of their lives? What do the stats say? Thanks so much!!

Hello! . There is no way of answering this question based on research, but only anecdotally. In general, implants last an average of 8 to 15 years, regardless of age. For some, it might be sooner or later. This is unpredictable. What we must remember is that these implants continue to evolve to improve not only comfort and efficacy, but also durability. We are hopeful that by the time a man needs another replacement, the “next generation device” lasts longer. If Starting at age 30, undoubtedly, it will fail at some point, but ….we, as surgeons will always try our best to keep you ‘functional’. Call us if/when you are ready. I'm a powerlifter, and I like to know if the implant will be safe when making pressure against the wait lifting belt. Actually, I'm back on TRT after a RP. I'm feeling very good except for my ED. Libido and dessire are high, and I managed to intercourse with a penile pump. For that reason, I'm looking forward to the implant.

Hello Doctor I see that this video is intended for penile implant patiants I am just a 23 yr old biology student that has been diagnosed with diabetes very recently and that is now experiencing E.D. I am seeking your help because your an expert that is very knowledgeable in this topic. I would really appreciate your help even as "not medical advice" bc this is the internet. But I am going through some health problems that seem too complicated for me to understand. I 'm suffering from erectile dysfunction, It's something very weird because this happened right after they diagnosed me with type 2 diabetes. I have read studies on pub med that talk about endothilial dysfunction in T2DM patients due to Nitric oxide synthesis dysfunction and I am super scared that this is what I have developed. I went into the doctor approximately 2 months ago because I was feeling very tired. I Also after eating i would start trembling a bit. They ended up diagnosing me with type 2 diabetes after a blood A1c test that came back at 6.9. My fasting glucose levels are in the 95 mg/dl to 111mg/dl range and after I eat it's like 141 to 144. I take a medication called Metformin. My concern is if there is a possibility that there has been damaged to my blood vessels inside of my penis so rapidly in just 2 months because I have erectile dysfunction now and I say that bc my erections are weak and not like they were before. The erection Is momentary in time and it's really stressing me out. I would like to know if there is any cure/reversal for this Or if the only treatment options are E.D medications like viagra and cialis bc I really don't want to take that. I have even read that it's a complex problem that when oral meds dont work then patients usually get injections that relax the corpus cavernosa and induce an erection. I really wouldnt like any of these things. Im currently eating zero carbohydrates and zero sugars. This theoretically means that my A1C should be lower in the next bloodwork panel. I'm only eating a choice of protein and veggies on the side as my meals and that's it. I also am cutting out totally all of the fat in my diet I eat grilled chicken or fish like tilapia and salmon. My post eating glucose levels are now at 117mg/dl without medication but the erection problem remains a factor. I have incorporated suplementa and vitamins that seem to help insulin resistance and that I have researched help free radical damage such as Alpha lipoic acid, Benfotiamine, Chromium picolonate, and inosistol.I would appreciate your help with this because I dont know what else to do ? I would like to know if those are way to reverse endothelial dysfunction Or How to reverse this problem that happened to me ? nor do I know how this occured so quickly. I assume that I must have had elevated sugars for a longer period of time without me noticing previous to my diagnosis. Thank you doctor in advance. I would really appreciate your help.

Make sure you explore all avenues. Here's 2 things I think will help. 1- the body will send blood to where it's only needed when there is something out of order. 2- Stress can cause ED. Control your mind and relax. Meditation can do wonders to destress. Quiet your mind. Focus on what you change. Eat healthy forever. "Dammit Jim I'm a carpenter not a doctor! (Old Star Trek lol)
