I've read several books about antique cross stitch samplers and nearly all tell you to leave the "mistakes" in--it makes projects unique and in all the needlepoint projects I've done NO one ever sees them--unless I tell them myself.

I gave my son three choices for a quilt for him. This was the one he chose. I’m not going to lie, it took me quite a while with a lot of labor, but it was one of the funnest quilts I’ve ever made. He loved it! Said it was the prettiest quilt I’ve ever made! I had a lot of personal satisfaction with this one. I even did her intense quilting on it!

"Close enough for government work"... hilarious! Angela, who writes your material, it's terrific. You have a future in comedy, if you ever get tired of quilting. Specifically regarding curved piecing, have you ever tried glue-basting with those super-pointy glue nozzles? It looks easier than sewing pinned pieces. LOVE (and look so forward to) your midnight quilter videos -- keep them coming! ~Diana

Angela, I love these midnight quilt shows. They remind me of when I was a stay at home mom and my kids were little. I used to stay up sewing into the wee hours of the morning. The next technique I want to learn is bargello. If you haven't done so already, that's what I would love to see next from you. Thanks!

Angela, I love this show. Right from the start, with the 'quilt juice' to the beautiful rainbow of colors, I was hooked. When you took a small hiatus, I was sad :-(. But now I happy, :-), so I thought I would let you know just how fun and unique your show is. I hope you keep on quilting in the midnight hour!

For a newbie quilter, it is encouraging to hear "close enough is good enough". It eases my mind, as this is a very intense thing to learn! I love the phrase "quilt-worthy". I'll admit--some people are not knit-worthy, much as I love them, LOL, and may not be quilt-worthy either! But that's mostly because they don't appreciate what goes into the craft. Those who do? They get crafted stuff!
@sharonozereko5478

Angela, you are a breath of fresh air! Love your approach to finding the joy in quilting. Too often I get bogged down with "not good enough." And BTW, you are right about there being those who are not quite quilt worthy. We can still love them, but tearing my hair out for a complicated quilting pattern on my little domestic for someone who will say, "oh, that's nice" takes away the good mojo. I am learning to consider the value the recipient is likely to put on my effort. Thank you!
@annie-k5213
@annie-k5213 7 жыл бұрын
I laughed so hard when you "effed " up, and then did your little frustration dance. As others have previously stated your "close enough is good enough" motto (I also watched your 3 things a quilter shouldn't do) has also released that anxiety driven falsehood of perfection away, and made my quilting time so much better that I am actually finishing my quilts and thoroughly enjoying the process now. When someone of your caliber is so open and honest, it really is inspiring. Thank You! OH! Yeah and your "quilting juice " cracked me up. My sister and I finished 2 quilt tops one weekend whilst imbibing in the same quilt juice. ;-)

OMG Angela! Love your videos! You have inspired me to take up quilting. I started making your bordello quilt (a teal block and a blue block) but my mom didn't think my color scheme would work together. So I bought more material to bring the colors together. After sewing that all up, I realized I didn't have enough material to make the number of pieces I needed. So I bought more fabric. Now that I'm piecing things together, I don't really like where it's going. In the meantime, my mom called me back to say if I incorporated more colors to the first blocks I made, they could work. Too late because I went in a different directions. At some point though, I hope to be done making blocks and actually making my quilt sandwich. Not to worry though! Your positive attitude is contagious and I am not giving up. Thanks so much! Because even with all this frustration, sewing is so relaxing! Looking forward to your next video!

Hi Angela!! Wow! what a breath of fresh air you are!! At this stage of my quilting (ie lots months of research/loadsa money spent and loadsa money saved - getting fabric from mens ties/shirts/dresses anything that looks pretty in the the charity shop!!) I finally felt ready to do something semi-serious and I have come across someone with my attitude to doing things on KZbin!! If you ain't got a glass of wine and some chocs (tea if i'm back on my meds) then just ain't worth doing nothing!! I love your cavalier almost ireverend attitude to the whole process of quilting - I think most of what has put me off trying to make anything are the stuck up ladies who seem to insist that everything is is prefect - perfect i just DO NOT do - and your saying of 'close enough for government work' made me laugh - for longer than i can remember it has always been a favourate of my dad's and i admit, i use it probably far more than i should!! So i raise my glass to someone who is full of fun, info and not afraid to show cock-ups as well as the beautiful pieces you make. Mm - now another cup of tea or do i get on with unpicking the second back to front seam i have done in the 16" cushion cover i have spent all week making from men's silk ties!!! Oh decisions decisions!!! Lots of love and hugs from Snowy Gloucester in the UK xxxx

Call me crazy but I have watched every episode numerous times! I love these, Angela! Keep them coming! PS... I now feel 'normal' that I also like to quilt with magic quilting juice!

I too watch many times, it motivates me to try it again, and again. Luv how Angela shows the quilt and how to actually quilt it. I luv watching the free motion tutorials too she is so good she makes it looks so easy, then I try and it isn't that easy. Luv her, I luv the way she refers to her grampa (husbands) and how he taught her to quilt, I often wonder if the gramma quilted too. These videos are so fun to watch.
