The white stuff is called wax bloom and it happens when the wax separates usually in the shipping process. Not all of the pat mcgrath lipsticks will have the white film so please don’t go out and buy it just for the “frosted” effect. This IS NOT a colour changing lipstick.

it’s not even purely clear to begin with, sadly. it’s a wax bloom. you can see when she’s applying it that there is a little bit of the color showing through at the top. there are clear color changing lipsticks though!

I have this green lipstick when you put it on it slowly starts becoming a cranberry color but the lipstick doesn't change color it stays green and it doesn't stain your lips green only a cranberry color 💗 I recommend it!!

I used to have a colour changing lipstick called True Lips. It was a bright yellow/orange colour but when you put it on, it changes colour and gives you the colour that looks best on you. Me and my mum wore the same lipstick, but hers turned rosey pink and mine turned dark red. And it was soooo moisturizing for our lips!

It's kind of a gimmick, actually. They'll TELL you it changes to "your perfect shade" but realistically, there is no technology in existence that allows it to calculate what your perfect shade is on the fly. That doesn't exist. That's not what it's doing. What it's ACTUALLY doing is changing colour based on your PH - which is why it looks different for each person. It's a glorified litmus test.
