I find when trying to remove black hair dye..its best to start at the bottom and work your way up..the top of hair says seems to get lighter than the bottom..and definately get at least 3 or 4 boxes of color oops for long hair.

Angel Song great advice! The bottom for sure takes longer to pull, and also if you have thicker hair multiple boxes to be safe! My hairs on the finer side but if you’re long haired and/or thick haired definitely multiple boxes. Thanks for the tips!

@@jacquelinesanchez8792 it will probably turn it a brassy color at first..but then I'd condition it really well after the color oops..and wait a couple days before redying.. condition it for 2 days..then on the 3rd day re-dye it the blonde color you want. Make sure to saturate the ends..color oops may lighten the top more than the rest of your hair..with any lightener..always best to start at the bottom.. splat bleach works great..but is a bit rougher on your hair. It also takes several boxes for long hair. Best of luck to you. I hope this helped.

@@jennig7543 you could do it in layers starting from the bottom in the back..just do a test area in the back underneath..that way if it looks too risky..you can stop with that test area

You NEED to wash your hair for 20 minutes afterwards. I didnt because I was too excited and the after color the next day went strawberry blonde. I think its because I didn't wash it long enough

Totally did the same as you! i didn't wash it as long bc i thought just leaving in shampoo longer takes it out 😂 But mine went to a strawberry red color then orange and started turning black again

Nichole Amore thats what I’m hoping for! I’ve dyed mine a 2N for a liiiiitle over a year with Kenra. Accidentally started with permanent dye and moved to a demi. What’s sad is I want to be a neutral level 3 and 4 brown so it’s not much of a difference. (My hair under the black dye was a 5/6 brown so it should be okay? Let’s hope) I used it aeons ago to get purple out of my white hair back in the day and it worked well enough. Fingers crossed I don’t mess up how nice my hair feels now 😭 maybe I won’t leave it on the whole time and buy a backup box for emergencies.

Black hair dye is actually in the red spectrum so red is normal. Probably one more process.

My natural hair used to be a ash brown color. I’ve did highlights like two times and dyed it like 5 times in my lifetime. I don’t even know if my hair dressers have put peroxide in my hair because I did highlights in my hair when I was like 12 or 13. Ima bit terrified how this product will turn my hair color to be. I just want my natural ash brown back !! 😥

You can color remove then dye over it with the ashe brown. If highlights are growing out it might make the ends lighter but that usually looks good. Talk to a stylist is always a good idea. Call always get some highlights and low lights and gradually less and less until it's the right color. Just ideas no stylist just have changed my hair alot. Hope it helps.

I've watched some Color Oops videos where it worked but it left their hair splotchy. There would be a circle or patch of the dyed hair that didn't come out. Yours looks nice and even. Do you think it is because you brushed it through?

There's a really good chance it was from brushing it through! When I first applied it i was super worried about it getting splotchy. Deff recommend brushing it in

Yes it can help it mostly ppl miss spots is why its splotchy bc even though long hair u think ur gettin it all ppl are gettin the tops and under neath strands not gettin the in between hairs thats why sectoning is very important and small sections of hair also when applying and bleach or hair dye unfortunately ❤😊

Color Oops will not change your hair back to its natural color if you've been using products with ammonia or peroxide in the past. Those two items will lighten your hair so when you remove the color with Color Oops you'll see your lightened hair not your natural hair color. The box should state that but doesn't.

Oh it works alright for like a day. Dont ask me how but I had black hair and did this and it turned my hair back to the natural reddish brown color then over the period of the next few days it started to turn black again. Weird af but it now dark dark, not quite black but def a whole lot darker. Idk how or wth is going on in that product but my hair is magical hahaha

Thats so weird that it ended up getting darker days later, ive used it for crazy colors like pink and blue before and then this time with the box black dye and it always worked for me! I dont understand why it would result in getting darker on its own after it leeched the color out already, the only thing i can think of is maybe during the rinsing process it didnt all get washed out, and some of the remaining color pigments latched back onto thr hair strands caused that to happen

I have naturally dark brown hair, almost black. I dyed my hair a lighter color and it came out a caramel orange color, I hated how it looked like so two weeks later I dyed it my natural color. The next day I went to a water park and since the water has chlorine in it, it started to lighten up again. All I’m asking is if this product will take out the caramel colored dye and the dark dye from my hair and leave me with my natural colored hair.

Did you lighten/bleach your original color first when you tried going to a lighter color? Or did you just dye it no bleach it with the color you chose? With your hair being so naturally dark, you always need to lighten it usually a few shades lighter, sometimes more shades that a few, sometimes less like only one shade lighter, depending on what result youre trying to achieve. I have very dark brown naturally too so I know the struggle. Yeah chlorine strips color like crazy, which is typically bad but can work in your favor since you want the color gone. If you have color treated hair or bleached hair of any kind and you dont want it ruined dont go get the hair wet with chlorine, wear a swim cap or just dont put your head under. But to answer your question yes, you will definitely be able to strip all the artifical dyes out of your hair with color oops. It will take out anything and everything that youve put onto it. If you bleached your hair out at any point then your hair will go back to the color it was after you bleached it. When you bleach hair you strip the natural color completely out of it so theres no natural color left to go back to. bleach doesnt sit on your hair the way dye does, dye sits on top, bleach strips color permanently. So yes, color oops will take any dyes out of the hair, and go back to your natural color if you didnt bleach the natural color out. If you bleached the hair, the color oops will strip all the dyes out, and bring you back to what color your hair lightened to, which your hair permanently is until it grows out or you cut it. Hope this helps!

Oops did not lift the color round my face. I had used Revlon Root Erase. I kept it on too long and 5R medium Auburn/Reddish Brown turned almost Black. I can not apply new color until the now dark brown is lifted. Question...? Should I reapply Oops just around my face. I found that the Oops is scary applying because it is very watery. Scary around the face and hair line.

One for all colors. They have two diff formulas-extra strength, and extra conditioning, i used extra strength and i didnt find it that drying on my hair. Maybe if your hair is more on the dry, bleached, or damaged side then extra condtioning might work better for you

When you washed it out did you rinse for the 20 minutes ? My hair was light brown and I rinsed it out and it re oxidized back to dark brown/ black .. idk what I’m doing wrong

I did the first wash/scrub for 10 min then rinsed it for 20 min and then did one last quick wash again after that. Then i went in with a shit ton of conditioner. Ive heard that sometimes if the specific dye you used was a long lasting one you have to do it twice and itll fully leech the color out

LuuLuu Luna I didn’t use hair dye after , I waited the 20 minutes and then before I started finding my hair was light brown /blonde & then I showered and rinsed as the instructions said and it oxidized to a dark brown . After using color oops 3 times I gave up and just stayed black lol

It can only remove color not deposit any, the only guess I have is if you didnt rinse it long enough, some of the color pigment didnt get fully washed out and then essentially re set to the hair strands

I think itll pull all of it out but ive heard that depending on the dye some dye can be stronger and hold more so sometimes it can take 2 tries but it only took one try for me and i used a permanent drug store box dye

It will still work, I'd just wait a few shampoos if its been recently freshly dyed, but the end color might differ from mine. If you dyed more reds, it may pull more red. If it was dyed more dark browns and blacks, it may come out a shade darker. But it will definitely pull the remaining dye out!

Yes the color oops smells weird thats normal haha, Brushing beforehand might have caused some irritation on the scalp and that may be why it was stinging. I didnt have any stinging while using it, but when using any product if you have significant abnormal effects always wash it out right away you never know you could be having a reaction to it

@@pascalejeann Color oops will only remove any dye you have on top of your hair. For me, i had natural brown hair under my black dye no bleach so I went back to brown (the brown you see after in the video) If you have bleached hair underneath dye and you use color oops to take the dye out, whatever color your hair was bleached to it will go back to. If it was bleached out to orange it will go back to orange. If it was bleached out to pale yellow it will go back to pale yellow. Bleach changes the natural state of your hair permanently and the only thing color oops can do is return hair to its natural state (whatever the state you left it in)
