Very helpful. Growing up I was extremely high contrast with almost black hair and very light skin (which I’m learning is pale olive). As I’ve aged, I’ve gone a little lighter in my hair and my skin is not as bright. Now I’m about to go gray. I’ve been concerned about how to handle the new contrast. This video has helped me figure it out without worrying about my season.

I too, am a soft autumn. I only wear black tops in turtlenecks with very editorial makeup. That way, you can’t tell that black makes my skin look grey.

Yes!! This! I have similar tricks when I wear black! Where there’s a will there’s a way! 🖤🖤🖤

This was such an educational video! Thank you! I’m sure it wasn’t an easy video to plan. I love that you did a wrap up towards the end lol. Very astrological Ms. Frizzle vibes. In South Korea, undertones and color theory is so trendy. It’s called “personal color” and some people restrict themselves to only that particular color scheme. I literally do not care about any of that. I have desire to learn about what colors suit me best, but I doubt I will ever abide to them on a daily basis. 🤷♀️ BUT, this video further proves my opinion of: everyone looks good in some shade of pink, you just gotta find the right one! 💕💕 I am still so obsessed with this look, head to toe. Down to the earrings, and the frills on that dress. Gorgeous!

I figured after me rambling a recap would be nice 😂😂 Ahh I’m so glad I nailed it and anytime you like my eye looks I know I did well😂❤❤❤ THAT IS WHAT I HOPE EVERYONE TAKES AWAY! Any color can be your color with some tweaking! And Pink is a *perfect* example. Welcome to team: don’t tell me what to do 😂❤ Thank you thank you❤ I didn’t wanna take it off tbh 😂🌈🎀

It's probably the lighting/how colors translate onto screens but I would have thought you were a soft summer! Just goes to show the whole concept is difficult to wrap my head around. Hearing your take on color theory dressing being most useful for colors near your face is something I haven't heard before!

Lighting is huge but you’re not wrong I can flex either way because of my neutral skin tone! I just slightly lean warm. Yes not enough people stress that! Wear the pants of your dreams!!! 😂 Really hope this was helpful❤️

omg, this is such a good video!!!!! as a neutral who loves colour fashion and makeup the seasonal colour thing was always so frustrating bc it was so limiting for neutral tones TT like what if i have no exact hue... i really love ur tip abt using more tinted and toned colours to enhance neutral features bc i just knew to avoid bright colours, but this rly helped confirm what kinda stuff wld probably work best!! thanks so much for this comprehensive breakdown

Ahh this comment means everything to me because I was really hoping this would be helpful! I’m glad I wasn’t the only neutral leaning person who votes to get rid of this color theory for neutrals anyway 😂 so glad this was informative I didn’t want to just complain and not offer a solution! 😂🥰 hope you’re having a great day♥️♥️

That eyeshadow is everything!! 😍 And thank you for this breakdown cause I am an MUA and kinda always thought it was super silly and limiting in ways that don't jive with reality. I'm a pale olive girl who leans slightly warm so it's been really hard figuring out what works for me but I have found through trial and error that most of the things people said should work for me didn't, and why the things that did didn't match any of the seasons recommendations for me or my clients.

Thank you thank you!!!❤️ Yes!!! This is exactly why I’ve come to these conclusions! 😂 I’m pale olive is so very difficult! It gets left out of the conversation a lot!

Help; I wear only black, white, and grey, lol. And blue jeans. But maybe once I grow grey hair out, I will want to wear some color.
@RachelEllenRose2 жыл бұрын
Black white and grey are classics! I wear a lot of those too 😊 ahh I can’t wait to grow out grey hair! I love the look! I think your plan is perfect🥰❤️

i also feel like age plays a huge role in colour in makeup. i'm 45 and when i was in my teens and 20s i could wear all kinds of things that would and do look ridiculous on me now - colour-wise as well as application-wise. i can't venture outside of cool colours - i can only get away with a certain selection of so-called "neutral colours," and all of the colours I wear must be desaturated regardless of intensity, hue, etc. i have very dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and very fair skin which makes it even more challenging. but i'm also a visual artist and i love colour so although it's been incredibly frustrating getting back into makeup at my age with so many restrictions that i didn't experience when i was younger, there's also an immense thrill that comes with each new learning stage - like for example, realizing today that the concealer shade that suits me best out of Kosas's first 5 lightest colours is the palest cool pink-toned shade.

What are some of your foundation shade matches?
@RachelEllenRose2 жыл бұрын
I am typically the lightest neutral shade. I wear mont blanc in NARS (a teensy too dark) Bone in merit (a teensy too pink) and Haus Labs Fair 040 Neutral is a pretty darn good match! Hope this helps🥰
