Color consultant here, Tricorn Black is just a true black. I won’t tell my clients the name of the color until AFTER they’ve chosen it. You are not looking at the name, you are looking at the color. Don’t be influenced by the names. Lighting is the KEY to color.

I have tried to love Benjamin Moore and I have purchased their products several times. Sherwin-Williams is my preference. I like SW paint quality as well as their colors and their suggested colors. I think Benjamin Moore has more interior decorators that gets money or are affiliates to their company so their paint is heavily advertise on social networking. My experiences and actually being a regular Consumer who is truly passionate about home decor recommend hands down Sherwin-Williams.

I usually do too. Sometimes I take BM and get the SW paint.

I have never seen the felt tricorn hat of colonial times in any other color than black. My guess is tricorn black was named specifically for the tricornered hat.

I love Regent Green. It’s such a rich, beautiful color. I’m probably gonna use it on a feature wall or a bathroom.

What color can I paint my white beadboard ceiling. The whole room is white and classic gray. Thky

If the room is large you can paint a darker color than white, if the room is small you should match the white (hoping it's not a bright white, we are heading towards warmer white colors). Paint the gray a taupe color and you will be more in line with trend.

I like Benjamin Moore better because the colors are more clear, less muddied with gray or yellow tints than Sherwin Williams.

It's funny that you say that, Benjamin Moore is my favorite too. I do like the colors of the Sherwin Williams 2024 choices this year though.

Furniture flipping is a hard one. We are heading toward woods and warmer wood stains and going away from white oak on everything.

If you are going to paint, I suggest taking a look at the colors offered in Fusion Mineral Paints. (Although I still like the white options in the more popular chalk paint brands.)

I like Gale Force a lot, but I'm not too fond of the other colors. Benjamin Moore's colors this year are much prettier IMO.
