If you’re ever looking for only those strain-relief parts for a captive power cable, they have the head-scratching name of “cable gland” at most suppliers.

Thanks for that!

There is a guy here on You Tube that had built a pre-amp like this, but using a 6SN7 tube. He also built a tube based power supply for it, but he added an OD3 regulator tube. Now, while I understand the reasoning for this to create a more stable DC supply, I have read that these regulator tubes can be very noisy. For the most part, I USUALLY don't see them used in commercial tube amplifier designs, but I have seen at least one amp made by Grommes that used a regulator tube for the bias supply. Not sure if you are interested in building another one of these with a tube regulator and do some tests on it to see how much noise the regulator tube adds to the signal.

There really is no point in regulating the DC in a design like this.

@@SkunkieDesignsElectronics I didn't think so as I have seen many amplifier designs and only a handful (if that many) are using a regulator tube. I know at least two designs were by Grommes. But when I saw the recent design on You Tube, it had me scratching my head. I mean the tube looks cool and would make a sensational power indicator, but I heard they can introduce noise in a circuit as well.
