Growing up in Colorado rest of my family still lives there just not me but we always called it the spaceship house it seems like it's been there since the early 70s maybe the late 60s if I remember right you can see it from I-70 on the way to the mountains? Love getting to see it up close in the inside that's a first for me LOL with so many favorites it's hard to say with this home but love those huge porthole windows awesome home it's always been one of my favorites from the outside thanks for sharing

gorgeous place, ahead of its time. curious as to the square footage. and the total acreage is three acres? pity the kid who had to mow that lawn for his/her allowance! just kidding. no doubt all that land figured into the selling price. this is luxury, people! woah, vineyard?! for me, the library is a killer feature. i'm seeing in the comments that the selling price was $8.75 million. accurate info? in some cities like NYC, the uber rich can only get a skimpy apartment on 5th Ave for that.

In the Philippines, anything that is not fashionable or popular will be ignored and be a laughing stock. They're more concerned in fashion and entertainment and politics to be specific. Practical things like monolithic dome tech will not prosper though frequented by strong typhoons year round.
@SHZ42017 жыл бұрын
I think the Philippines would be the perfect place for one of these, especially due to the tropical weather and their low cost of cooling. I wouldn't care what others think. I would prefer to be off the main road, behind a gate, and unseen anyway.
@dindolee88297 жыл бұрын
data1025 indeed, but sad to say no one in this country like that stuff that is practical but not fashionable. They would prefer to support beauty pageants and concerts instead! That how idiots they are!

I have realized, after many years of being married to a Filipino, many trips to the Philippines, and spending countless hours socializing with Filipinos that they are trapped by culture. I am always amazed that a population, pretty much as a whole, want to leave their country, but cling so tightly to beliefs that created the situation they are trying to get out of, so they are trapped by their culture, and even when they can get out, they bring their culture with them. Dindo, you say the practical will not prosper in the Philippines, which is to say, the Philippines will not prosper. Very sad because it is all due to their thinking.

I was very sorry to see you have gotten rid of the indoor pool. I'm not sure what the alterations all were but the overall effect seems to have been to reduce the appeal of the non-standard nature of the dome space in favor of something closer to a conventional home. That is somewhat disappointing.

The house was much less expensive to build than "normal architecture" as the shape was created by a blown up balloon and then sprayed with polyuerethane foam and concrete. This was my family's home for 39 years. We built it and it was built in 1978 and is an iconic house in our area so please be respectful with your comments. The sale of this home was noting like ti would have been back east......but then you would never get 3 acres, a pond, a creek and vineyard and a 3 car garage with living space above back there. This house is unique and beautiful.

HORRIBLE ! This is like trying to furnish a "Modern" house with "Victorian" furniture. Design the interior to the dome - or design the exterior to the furniture. Orthogonal with orthogonal. Victorian with victorian. Dome with dome. Modern [ or futuristic ] with futuristic. This is a horrible blend. High tech would be a much better choice. Another option would be "geologic" with the dome. For instance - quartz arm chair [ really cool in this space ! ] - ball chair - bubble chair - pythagoras chair - pallone chair - even a couch based on the shape of a stack of sandbags would be better ! Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
