The cartoon was the reason why I visited South Park outdoor museum back in 2015 on a solo trip through Colorado. I was amazed by just how well it was done and all the authentic artifacts, the authentic 1800s Masonic lodge being my personal favorite. I came in from Breckenridge through Alma and the views of the mountains especially Mt. Lincoln and Democrat are breathtaking.

I live in Colorado Springs CO and we "play in the park" (fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, dirt bike riding, etc) many weekends out of the year.

Thanks for the introduction to South Park City - in the UK we have 3 similar museums (St Fagans National Museum of History in Wales, Black Country Living Museum in the Midlands and The Beamish Museum in the North East) I agree that these buildings if left in the original location would be lost - a collection of these old buildings is a great way to keep them "alive" and allow the world to see how our ancestors lived.

Visited there today 10/13/24. Worthwhile, bathe Native American artifacts are impressive, a tremendous collection of arrowheads of all colors and great craftsmanship. Loved the buildings and contents, stores with products from 150 years ago in mint condition. Mature children today should visit to see how much more difficult life was not too long ago.

I visited South Park City in 1976. Hope to come back this fall, Covid and authorities permitting. It's great to see that the museum has evolved quite a bit since then.

Sad st. Terese in Frederick had minor fire damage, the short sighted owners tore it down. That could have been used as a wedding chapel or a museum. In my town, short sighted people tore down old houses and built mess in the 60s. Out with the old unique history, in with the new mess nobody cares about.

Change of subject - this is a great documentary. I am comparing the ways to speak of the narrators. The elderly (local) persons talk and act normal, the young lady from Denver speaks and moves her hands more like a robot. Her pronounciation is terrible. It sounds like more and more people speak this way.

Wonderful! Well put together to tell the remarkable story. Narrators were great!

There is just so many grammatical errors in your comment. Everything is about money/currency if you want to survive without living off the grid. Who would want to be broke for the rest of their lives? Not I.
