Can't tell you how many times I have heard this said by many athletes, "Winning silences haters". Colorado didn't win that bowl game because it wasn't meant for them to do so. Therefore giving their haters a platform in which they are making use of. I remember last season watching well off as the 2023 season was commencing cosch prime was giving out his L's and D's to put on certain guys jerseys. He gave Shedeur an L as leader, Travis obviously a D for Dawg and he also gave Jace Feeley a D saying Jace is a dawg. Jace then proceeded to never kick touchbacks and miss multiple field goals and ultimately lost his job to Matta. Coach had big expectations for Jace and Jace never met them on the field. So i wonder why he was given the D to begin with? Is he a practice beast that under the lights wilts? Or maybe did his old mans friend Coach Prime give it to him on some personal level? Hard to say but the proof is in the play and Feely hasn't played well.

@@nicoband256 once I saw coach give him that D and factored in his pedigree I expected to see some Janikowski at fsu or Tucker at Texas type kicking performances from Jace but he showed to be a below average player when he had his opportunities. Maybe Jay Feely talking about the need for a Teams coach is an implication that there was no improvement due to lack of coaching? I can agree schematically and situationally but most teams coaches aren't kickers I don't know that a kicker can be coached to kick a ball 70 yards off a tee or not just like you can't teach a kid to throw 97mph in baseball. Sounds like the Feelys are just in their feelings because there's no argument for Jace to have been handled differently in terms of game use.

Well, Matta Jr don't have a strong leg, but he's accurate this season. I think he only missed two field goals year around. In terms of kickoff, Jace was not getting the ball to the endzone. Feely was going to be replaced. Now the BYU game was a total disaster from top to bottom. The game looked like our offense was playing 7 on 7. 4th and 1 and they have 5 WRs on the field, just at the 50 in their first series. When that happened? I said this will be a long game. Hunter got in Shedeur face as he was open while Shedeur was trying to force balls to Jimmy Horn who's meh as phuck with all of that speed. Prime said he wanted to showcase Jimmy this game, but Jimmy is not that good, never been that good, and people keep waiting on him to turn the corner given his athletic gifts. Defense, without NGH, we suffered abit. Nwanko, Taj, Shilo, Cam, Sam O, they all put in work. Linebackers, not sure what was going on but I would consider upgrading my LB coaches. Alright, I hope in 2025 we get an O-line coach he can teach these boys to run block. Half of the sacks are on Shedeur playing like he doesn't have pass rushers trying to come and get him. Expect a year of growing pains, but 2026 we will see where our QB is at his sophomore year. I would expect 7-5 next year. Now that Shedeur is gone, it might be addition by subtraction. We can run a more balance offense as our RBs average 4 yards a carry, the rest were due to QB sacks affecting our total. However, no way our top back should only have 384 yards on 85 carries. Take away all of Shedeur BS, and runs by the WRs, our RBs only carried the ball 238 times the entire season. KSU DJ Giddens carried the rock 205 times my himself. Baylor RB Bryson carried 170 times this year. I want to see atleast 150 carries by our top RB, not 85 which is total horse crap. It's not that we couldn't run it, Shedeur wanted to play hero and run up stats for his favorites and get Travis the Heisman.

I get that there's no need to slander Coach Prime since he has done nothing but good things to this program but its not like we won 10 games this year and were in the CFP or we made the B12 Championships. It may not have been the right time or place to air the laundry but he was 100% correct. One only has to look at the past special teams performances since year 1. CU special teams has been suspect since day1. Just go back and count the number of blocked FG/EPs, KOR and punts returns greater than 20yds and TDs given up. The coverages, protections, techniques, and personnel has been suspect for some time. Great example was BYU had multiple punts and KOR beyond the 50 and for TD. The surprise On Side Kick by BYU showed flaws in scheme, technique, awareness, and personnel. CUs front row on KOR is always "leaning", leaving early or turning their back to the KO team and BYU knew it and took advantage of it. Lastly, Colorado got flat out coached on special teams. You're already wrong when 4 of the 5 of your KOR front row are wearing 23,26 28, and 38. These positions traditionally held by OL/DL & your bigger TE/LBs. Remember Special Teams is more than having a good kicker and punter!

I wish he wouldn’t have made that comment publicly, but he wasn’t lying. They haven’t had a special teams coach all season!! How is that acceptable?? It isn’t. Period. I was shocked they didn’t hire someone when the last coach left/got fired in the pre-season but I knew they had plenty of time. Months ticked by but they never filled that position - if they did and I’m wrong I’ll stand corrected. Those kids appeared to be left on their own with no development, correction or guidance to improve what turned out to be a pretty bad special teams season. You can’t be upset that special teams aren’t “special” when you’ve left the players without a coach ALL SEASON!! Who wouldn’t be upset if that was them or their kid? 🤷🏼‍♀️

The two kickers in that bowl game were night and day. BYU has a great kicker, Colorado does not. You can call that sour grapes, but the young man who replaced Feely is still sub par. Colorado is making big improvements, but the roster still isn’t ready for big time football yet.

What I can’t understand is the objective should have been to get a 10th win at all costs! It looked like the Buffs regressed to last season! I’m baffled! They had the time to prepare for BYU defenders were running by Seaton and Tyler Brown without any resistance! They are 2 of our best OLmen! I noticed Jace's demeanor at the Buffs gift opening. His arms were all folded up and he didn't seem happy to be there. Just saying. I agree with his dad about the need for a special teams coach but the way he relayed his message was foul. He could have contacted Coach personally and said his peace. But Feely got hurt the first or second game so that's where he has been. I don't believe it had nothing to do with his performance in general cause Mata does miss sometimes and Mate's 🏈's don't make it to the end zone that often.

But Prime has a special spot for special teams and we should all know that because CP's first NFL touchdown was off a kickoff return...CP talks all the time about being needing all three to play well in order to dominate and he is always calling for special teams to be special. He tells players that want more PT that the best way to do that is to shine on Special teams. Also how did Mata improve over time as kicker but it's CP fault that other players havent....hell Shedeur has his own QB coach why doesn't Jay do the same for his own son....

Feely isn't wrong. Special teams should have a dedicated coach. Mata was gifted a role he didn't earn. Jace was not given an opportunity to be the FG kicker except 45+ yards. However, the Feely's knew this, so crying about it now is weak.
