I am looking forward to seeing how your channel grows this year in every aspect that you mentioned. It's always a learning process! We try to make the best content possible, film the best moments and capture those snapshots in life that gets us so excited that we want to share that moment with others. Your channel has been awesome and you should be proud of how it has grown over the years. Before I moved to CO, it was definitely an inspiration for me to get here ASAP! As a travel a lot as well, each time I am away from home, I binge content to get me excited and to feed the hunger and passion of getting out there and being able to experience as much as possible and live life to the utmost fullest. Sounds like a big change in life is happening to you and what a way to take advantage and vault into the next chapter of yourself and the Colorado Mallcrawlers!

I really appreciate that! My goal is that there will always be videos that are all from me, but I want to cover over 400 trails so I gotta come up with something. My hope is finding the right editor will allow us to bring more trails to y’all. Also, I love filming these, I never want to stop, but my parents are needing more help, so having others that can do the stuff I do may help out a lot. Anyway, I really appreciate the comment!

Never commented on a video before so this post seems like an odd one to start but...I love the channel, it is inspiring to see the different rigs complete these sometimes very challenging obstacles. Gives me confidence that I can tackle it in my 4runner and it's more about the confidence to take the drive in many instances than it is to have a beefed up rig. Would love to see you on the trail in 2023, I am based in Denver and I have 4 friends coming out from Ohio in mid July, going to do many of the trails you have covered in your videos, basically overlanding from Denver to Moab over the course of a week. Keep up the great work!!

I think you should take a look at Casey LaDelle. I’ve seen some of Casey’s stuff. He is taking the products tho, and I don’t want to do that. I want to buy products and review them… I think that’s the way to do it. Hey, Dewie I have really enjoyed your videos and thought they were well done. I like the fact that they are a little rough around the edges and to me that makes them more relatable. I can identify with having a budget off-roader. Every year so far I have bought and sold a different vehicle. I’ll put a budget lift and tires on it. I live in Louisiana, but I have a sister who moved to Colorado a few years ago. For the last three years I have driven up there to visit her and go out on different trails. Also, I go to the Ozarks a couple times a year. My brother lives near there. He watches off-road videos also and he really likes trains. I am looking forward to whatever you do in the future with the channel.

Thank you and I appreciate that! Yeah, it was amazing that a few people defended their use of our footage too. They took down the video tho so I figured I should in good faith cover their name. Thanks for your comment. I get that sponsorships keep channels afloat, but I do not want to lead people down the wrong path. I was just noting in my head how you hadn't been putting much up the last part of the year, and i too am going to be making some big transitions this year. My eventual plan will be full time camper life while traveling everywhere. I've also been tossing the idea around in my head of doing a similar video once i get my ground work done for this new adventure. (i'm sorry, but i could NOT live in a trailer that i can't even stand up in) (i lived in a camper for 4 months this summer/fall) My hindrance for videos this year has been lack of filmed content...i've had plenty of time to edit over the past 4 months, but nothing to edit! I hope you can figure out the financials for hiring an editor. I'm going to try to still do my own stuff, but the career shift should be waay more profitable than YT income...so who knows!
@coloradomallcrawlers Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’ve put way more money into this than it has ever made, but I’m absolutely ok with that. What I’ve struggled with is not being able to schedule stuff with people. I think I’ll be able to find an editor as I think this channel has a lot of potential, but we’ll see. The camper is just a sacrifice to make a more dedicated focus on the channel work. I’ll put an awning room to it where I can stand, plus my friend said I could park it on his farm (so the Jeep won’t have to tow it everywhere). It’ll be tough tho… I hope your travels bring you to Colorado or Moab so we can get on a trail together!

Glad to see you will hire an editor. The content is great, since I live in CO as well, but I always find it difficult to watch your vids. There is SO MUCH TEXT on the screen that it's hard to watch a video when I also have to read a novel at the same time. Look at 2:39 in the vid as a great example; there's no way we can watch the vid AND read 200+ words of text while you're also narrating. We come to KZbin for videos, not to read dissertations. So that's my 2 cents, I hope you find a great person to help with the vids! See ya on the trails!
@coloradomallcrawlers Жыл бұрын
I appreciate that, the text is never meant to be necessary tho. If you want to not read it, you’ll still get the story of the video. The text is for people trying to get info on a trail. They are designed to be screen shot if you want to read it all. Everyone has different reading speeds so it’s tough to decide how long to leave it up. I do appreciate the feedback tho.

However, if I have an editor, I can wheel more so I’d have more flexibility I’d think. We’ll see… living in the camper could be tough. The big difference between me and others is I work on call 24/7. This means I may work overnight then work during the day next. Constant flip flopping. I’m also often only home in Denver for 10 hours or so. So I sleep, hang out with my girlfriend, and try to edit some before getting called. It just doesn’t work. There is talk we may go to 11 days on, 4 days off, and that would change things for me… but I realized there is nothing wrong with hiring an editor. MORR Tucker actually told me that would be the smartest decision I would make about this channel. If I didn’t work, I could edit a full length trail guide in 3 days, but I like my job too. So, I’ll hire an editor to put out more content (which I’m often asked to do), use my job to pay my bills, and use channel profits to pay for the help on the channel (Sean, Drew, new editor). I appreciate the comment and hope this made sense.

Yo! I'd love to help you guys out and just generally meet/wheel with ya'll. I'm a Colorado native and have been an automotive/diesel mechanic for over 20 years. Building everything from small turbo cars, domestic big displacement monsters, to overland/offroad rigs. If you need a hand on builds for videos or whatever, then lemme know by responding to this comment. I currently live around the Denver metro.

Very cool… once I find the right editor, I can start focusing on the other stuff here. We definitely will add it though, but details need to be worked out with an editor first.

I think you're doing a great job do enjoy the videos! As far as doing videos Like why I like my Jeep or don't like my Jeep or whichever vehicle. I think it's important to point out things to look out for and we'll change on whichever vehicle you choose. And refers to Sean I'm trying to teach him he drives a Jeep not a car lol. I'm sure I'll hear from him about that lol. Along with the fact that it wouldn't be for Sean I would have never know about your Videos! Keep the videos coming keep up the great work!

Yeah that’s the angle I’m taking on my 1 well 1.5 year review of the wrangler. Basically, what has broke, what I’d change if I was designing the wrangler, and probably stuff I miss from my old Jeeps (I found many of my old videos). As for Sean, he got harassed by this guy named Tyler when he was new to the Cherokee. I blame his early interactions with that guy for when Sean calls his Jeep a car. Really appreciate it!

Sadly, company A is notorious for social media outlash and victim blaming and not taking ownership of problems. He overcharges on items and uses the lack of knowledge of consumers to sell his product and when pointed out people lash back out. I would highly recommend Hazard Sky products as they provide the same style puck lift for cheaper as well as TerraFlex which just recently released a lift kit for the KL.

I had no dog in the fight until the stolen footage came up. It was disappointing to see how it was handled. We had a private discussion where he said he wouldn’t use my footage anymore so I covered up the name. I asked him to reconsider his social media policy because it’s shady. He refused. I told him I’d think about how I’d handle this… this is my response. I wish more people would read that policy and decide if that’s a company they want to support. I CAN GUARANTEE I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM A WRANGLER OR LIBERTY AFTERMARKET COMPANY THAT HAD THAT POLICY. I’m still amazed he thinks that’s an acceptable policy. I don’t know hazard sky, but have heard good things and teraflex has had some great wrangler products over the years.

@Colorado Mallcrawlers part of the toxicity of the kl groups is why I traded mine in for a JLU. I know wrangler groups can be the same but there are tons of more options. I hope as the line comes out of production and ages a bit we see some awesome upgrades like the liberty received once it became cheaper to own.

You need a couple Subarus to test the trails for us not running Jeeps

On my personal Facebook page for now. May eventually create a website, but right now I spend more money on making videos than Adsense returns so I can’t justify that expense at this time.

Your videos are very good and informative. Always remember just be yourself. A lot of the youtubers just try too hard and they all look the same. Cute little intro and then shitty music and for a minute before anything hap[pens.

I appreciate that. Because I think I want to make videos for others one day, I’m going to try to make them better. However, I’ll continue to host and that’s just me (altho we may have guest hosts as I think that’d be fun). We’ll see, but we will continue to be ourselves.

The opinion videos are a dime a dozen. To me, they are a way to alienate viewers in today's environment where different views are frowned upon. "Don't mistake your opinion as fact." Jocko Willink

Those videos get views and I need views to be able to pay an editor. If you know other ways to afford an editor, I’m all ears.

See i think , to hit the offroad algorithm a name change might help you. Like something with offroad in it , or Jeep, or 4x4 , something it will get you more views.. something like Colorado Offroad Crawlers , you get what im sayin , just my 2 cents …
@coloradomallcrawlers Жыл бұрын
We’ve hit the algorithm and we all like the name as it’s funny to us. We don’t produce regular content and that’s our issue with growth. However, we’re ok with that, we just want to make great content that’s here for people when they need it. We are trying to produce more videos tho as there’s over 1000 trails I want to cover now.

I actually know how to edit on premiere, but it has been a few years. The problem is premiere is subscription based now and it just doesn’t run well. I edit multiple lines of 4K footage on an iPad Pro using lumafusion without ever using a proxy. From what I hear, premiere runs rough on many machines still.

For me the channels I watch and enjoy the most are less scripted (don't confuse that with not planned) and more consistent beause they have some person/persons help their channels full time . MORRS, FabRats, and off grid channels like MSR, SJ, SLA, AS, WWOG all have a slightly different take and so they are all equally interesting.. I think in the pure SUV Offroad arena there are several very good but small

I appreciate that! I think the people in my videos are the most interesting aspect, but it is hard to get people to be on camera. I get that, I was self conscious about too… but people are always better than they think they are. Even Sean here thought he was horrible when we filmed it, but he was great. I also think the trails are stars of the videos… they’re all special in different ways. I got to do a better job of showing that. I thought about collaborating, but big channels don’t always like to do that. MORR gets a ton of requests and he was a fan of BleepingJeep before making his channel and the others are his local friends. To me, if I reached out to Tucker, tell him we’re coming down, see if they wanted to film… well that’d be a smaller channel using a bigger channel. I don’t want to be a user. So I’ll probably stop by MORR to say hi to tucker, but I don’t expect to film there. My hope is we will just do trail guides of their cool trails and hope to not need to make a call for recovery. I’m hoping my crew and our coverage of the trails will set us apart. However if Matt and crew want to be in one of my videos, I’d absolutely love that. I just can’t reach out as it could be considered using. For instance, I’m friends with Kevin with LiteBrite (well we chat all the time and he did tell me he would fix my JK’s engine if it needed a new one), but they didn’t invite me to holy cross with them when we were really small. I get it, if I do the trail stock, it diminishes feats these other channels do, but if I failed, it’d ruin their production requirements. I do want the channel to grow (but stay under 100k as I don’t want to release that video lol) as I want to take care of the people that help me make these videos. That’s really my only goal now, take care of others here. I will write to eventually to take care of my personal responsibilities.
