I watched both games twice and I definitely noticed some trends. Shadeur and Hunter will have their day. Don’t get me wrong, Nebraska will make some stops on defense and will get the sacks that NDSU failed to get. However, the magic that Shadeur can do while his pocket is constantly collapsed and the ability for Hunter to turn 50-50 balls into 75-25 balls is unmatched. Malcolm is a good safety and has some ball hawking ability but he will definitely get burnt his fair share. Had Blye Hill been healthy this would be a different matchup. Colorado will avoid running the ball because their o line frequently gets bullied and will run out of gas. I expect Colorado to make many big plays with the passing game. It will come down to Nebraska not turning the ball over and controlling the line of scrimmage. Nebraska will bully the line of scrimmage on defense for sure, and will definitely disrupt (to a limited extent) the passing game. Nebraska will need to have a better showing on the o line to help Raiola. The O-line was praised for their game against UTEP, but during the first 20 minutes or so the o-line was on its heels and caused some issues in both penalties and rushed plays. If the o-line can come out with the focus they got during the 2nd quarter they will be fine. Dylan getting a proper amount of time to set up his offense will avoid the stupid turnovers that happen. If ball security is ensured the Huskers have a chance to take a game from Colorado. Make no mistake, the offense that the three best players in Colorado have is a total cheat code.

## PLEASE RESPOND TO MY QUESTION## As a former DB, I want to ask you why the DB's in college don't look at the lineman (guards and tackles) to know whether the play is going to be a pass or a run? Since in college you only have six players that are eligible you know that if the guards and the tackles shoot forward at the snap, its going to be a run play. Why do DB's run with the receivers downfield on run plays? Why don't they just look at the lineman to tell them whether its going to be a run play or a pass play? If the lineman stand up right away, the DB should know its a pass or a screen. I know they can shoot for up to 3 yards but the have to block people. The entire line does not usually do that in an RPO. Also, why do DB's in college not keep their eyes on the QB? Why do they blindly turn their back to the QB and trail the receiver. Why don't they turn inward towards the QB with the receiver is on their back hip. It seems like DB's just run blindly behind the receivers hoping to bat the ball down if the receiver catches it. Those are the two things in college football that I don't understand why DB's are taught to play that way. Maybe you can tell me because it is not the technique I was taught when I played in the 90's. Thanks for your time.

We have a pretty strong squad but I think a quick passing game is pretty essential to get past this defense. Run game is going to be tough even for the best teams
@TomFox-sl7smАй бұрын
They get burned on short to mid range passes pretty easily. They don’t have good pass rush defense, I think the first play from scrimmage they sent 5 and got burned pretty easily. They have potential to be good (not great) but they’re so undisciplined it costs them in penalties. If they can clean up the penalties and just avoid stacking the box I think they can stop the bleeding enough on defense to outscore a lot of opponents.

Nebraska coach Matt Rhule is known for turning college programs around his second year. He did it at Temple and Baylor. CU might be in for a surprise.
@dream_in_digital2 ай бұрын
The offense has improved across the board. We have a new, deep, experienced WR room and four healthy RBs. The problems last year were turnovers and a horrible QB. Sims gave the game away and it wore our defense out. Both lines and the defense have improved, especially with conditioning and a second year under this coaching staff. NE is more capable of winning time of possession to keep Shedeur off the field and running the ball to wear down their defense. Home field advantage is a big factor. This CU team hasn't played in an environment like they will on Saturday. 90,000 screaming fans in heated rivalry at night will have an impact.

@krunkformula dylan is a game manager while sheduer is a game changer. No doubt cu offensive line struggles but it's without question they are better than last year and if they can give sheduer enough time he will tear apart that nebraska secondary. Nebraska will have to make a choice either drop 8 into the secondary like last year and hope cu can't run or play an honest style of defense and the the wr and corners/db's fight. Id only pray that nebraska runs against us in man coverage lol I don't think that'll happen. If cu can't stop nebraska on the ground then 100 percent nebraska will win but if we can stop the run and create 3 and outs then the pendulum swings in our favor
