I suspect someone at the TV station monitoring the chat and the statistics is a bit confused by what they're looking at here... Hyce? ES&DT? Why are viewership stats for this so odd? 22k views about a heritage railway? Maybe I’m trippin, but if you ask me, Hyce and friends have the potential to do a lot more for railroading than just improve attendance and recognition of one railroad museum. I’m just sayin’. Keep on buying those neighboring lands. Keep extending your mainline. Maybe one day you’ll be picking up your visitors in downtown Denver and bringing them back. Then maybe one day you’ll be picking up your visitors in Ft. Collins, Making a stop to pick up more in Denver, and brining them back. And then maybe some folks in Ft. Collins decide it’d a nicer and more enjoyable way to make their daytrip to Denver if they just got on your train and hopped off during the Denver stop. Maybe on the way back to Ft. Collins, some people in Denver swap in with those who got back off in Denver so they can catch the ride to Ft. Collins… Then y’all start charging half the cost of the gas it would take to drive the route in a car, and feed the revenue back into more locomotive restorations, more mainline extensions, acquiring more vintage hardware…….. Who knows what’s possible?

Not a single bit of information about the property or if they plan on expanding.
@akaBoG10 ай бұрын
The Museum is developing property (to the south) that they have owned for decades to expand parking. From there, with increased capacity, they hope to eventually build a new welcome center on the existing parking lot. No current plans to develop the newly bought land at this time.......long-term, who knows what the future will hold. They have owned (and rented) an additional neighboring property for almost a decade.

My personal opinion is it would be smarter to invest in a larger property farther out from the major population center. The National forests or parks sometimes will allow historical working museums to open within thier borders. It stops encroachment from residential neighborhoods and brings visitors to the parks, plus lots of land.

"Our parking lot dictates the capacity of every event that we operate." For a railroad museum that's depressing. I'm thinking of Südbahnmuseum Mürzzuschlag which is right next to a station with hourly railjet/EuroCity/InterCity plus some nightjet trains. (Some of the other austrian museums aren't as conveniently located but at least they're more or less in walking distance from a regularly served railway station.)
