This was helpful! In the Sam's Igloo example, are you saying that you do the Colorado State Tax filing outside of SUTS? As a new SUTS user this is what confuses me the most. When I create the spreadsheet in SUTS, it automatically generates some lines as STATE. So it seems as if I am paying STATE/LOCAL taxes for those jurisdictions. That is what I am still not completely clear on.

You can file the state portion through the SUTS portal OR the state site. It's up to you. It's probably easier to do it through the SUTS portal, though, so you're filing the majority of it there and not having to go through two different portals. We were just trying to make people aware that both parts of the return are necessary and that going through just the state portal won't cut it with the SUTS cities.
