I think you missed his point. He said how many decades has prime been inspiring players. Deion been inspiring players since he was at Florida State winning titles in football baseball and track. Then did it at the pro level NFL and almost won a world series title in baseball. Then becomes a football coach and still inspiring young men til this day.

I find that fascinating since $$$ is the only thing that is building the Colorado program. Sanders isn’t a coach, his celebrity & being a former pro athlete has given him an unlimited check book. NIL “free agency” & transfer portal were made for guys like Neon Deion. He’s a wonderful fundraiser and has bought the best players and coaches available. His assistant coaches are making more than many head coaches. I don’t blame Sanders but please stop with the bs that he’s a great coach. He is a fantastic salesman and fundraiser who has great assistant coaches.

"Why would he do this?" Why WOULDN'T he do it? Great move by the CSU coach. Without this, people would only be talking about the Buffs/Ducks and Colo/USC. Now the RAMS are in the conversation. All these coaches are intelligent, calculating individuals---that's how they rise up the ladder in an industry that only tolerates winning. Norvell saw a way to fire up his own team who all watched Deion hand out sunglasses to HIS players...a gesture of disrespect to THEIR coach. What's the downside for CSU? They're going to get stomped anyway. Now they're "Primed" for "Prime" time---sorry---to give a out-of-their-minds performance in Boulder. And should they play the Buffs close it'd be a great recruiting tool for Norvell next year. Deion will get all these 5-star recruits but Norvell can tell the 4-star guys, "hey, come to Fort Collins---you won't be getting much playing time in Boulder, and as you saw last September we're on the rise and almost on the same level as Colorado." Great move.

As far as what I was implying in my original comment, it was that Shilo isn't jumping head first into the mud with CSU's coach via his response on Pat McAfee. Their response will be on the field - alluding to the response that matters. That response was already there. CSU's coach just made that inherent response likely more severe. That's all.
