I'm old & can't keep up with most other hikers but prefer solo & my solitude anyway...beautiful views today. I keep a wide mouth nalgene P bottle in tent, again, old, 2/3 times a night & I look like a turtle on it's back crawling in & out of tent....Heading to Reno today for about 2 months on PCT 😀 happy trails & God Bless!!

Thank you for sharing! I have to live vicariously when it comes to the long trails. I would touch the PCT and TRT signs when I day hiked in California. I'm doing the same for the CT now that I live in Colorado.

Yes, some of us just have to touch the trail signs. You’re right, it does make us feel more connected. Plus, when we see others do it, it brings a special smile.

Congrats on all that you accomplished! I started tearing up when you did. It really is a profound experience. I will be heading back next year to finish what I started at Cottonwood Pass. It would be lovely if our paths cross.

@@shannonthomas7720 thank you so much! 🤗 My emotions totally caught me off guard, I didn’t expect to get choked up. It’s so hard to put into words how you feel when you complete something you’ve set out to do. And it was be soooo amazing to cross paths! I am hopefully to be able to finish the trail next summer but I have some other plans so not sure if timing will be right. I also will be starting at segment 18 since that’s is where I left off last year.
