Have you taken the boat back out - I actually bought one of these to fish in that area so was surprised to see this video. Curious if you did anything to keep the frame from rusting?? You can also change the valve covers on the boat with ones that measures the PSI digitally which helps to see how much air pressure you really have. At the max rated PSI you'll be surprised how firm the pontoons get. I bought the boat, battery, trolling motor, an upgraded millennium marine seat and swivel and stand, added a custom kayak crate, more rod holders, and just need to build a platform for it. Wanted to take it down to Oak Island after testing it locally here in the Charlotte Area. For surf fishing I also bought a saltwater rated float tube (inflatable half boat where you use fins to kick around but it also has oars on oar locks in case you need them. Have take this out past the breakers a number of times and it is great fun to be out there where you wish you could cast to. They are pretty cheap maybe look into getting one of those for surf fishing.

I had to buy a pump as it got. Low on one side. First time I pumped it up I had a neighbor help with his equipment. But I plan to get out there again soon. This is a great time of year for it.

If you have a DeWalt 20v drill you can get an adapter/converter to 12v to run all your accessories. There on Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B07RKMP35G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_FC4P9HGVTRYVRRCZCV21?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 You have to use those heavy batteries. Get some yak power accessory cables. Food looks great! Glad you got classes going.

Hi. I’m going to Ocean isle last week of May and planning on doing a lot of surf fishing. I know I can catch some whiting. But I was wondering what other fish I catch this time of year. Maybe reds or speckled trout?
@SandsintheSurf3 жыл бұрын
The blue fish haven’t shown up yet but should be by then. Cut bait or finger mullet of if you like to cast, throw metal lures or gotcha plugs. If you can get live minnows, those will work too. Might get a Spanish if you’re lucky. Hopefully pompano will be around. Close to shore using small hooks. They like live or fresh shrimp or live sand fleas.

@@SandsintheSurf cool! Thanks for the info. Do u think the finger mullet will be in yet to catch with a castnet from the surf?
@SandsintheSurf3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think mullet will be in the surf but I’ve heard reports pogies are showing up.

Also, caught a good number of large gulf kingfish last week. Had one very good run which was probably a red, but never got him in.

Same thing happened to me and while I was trying to get him in, my other rod started bending. I asked my friend to reel it in. He reels in a 16” black drum. I lost my fish. Go figure.

Thanks for sharing the tip on how the drum school in similar sizes. I was unaware of that. What bait were you using? I am new to the area and trying to learn the local fishing techniques, you have provided some great information.

I caught those drum on fresh shrimp I bought at Clems.
