My Girlfriend has a nack for catching pelicans. She got her second one this fall in Southport. Fortunately we were able to catch it and get the hook out of its wing. It flew off after it dried it's feathers out. Had to use a cast net to get it up on the dock. Pelicans have a way of getting into mischief.

Also, they have the Liver Mush Festival every year up in Shelby, west of Charlotte. I have never been but it’s on my bucket list. And Tranquil Harbor has a Wedge Salad to die for, as does Salt 64 (in old Jones building). The hot dogs I fix at home may be better than Bob’s but he serves us some good ones and his chili is decent.
