Excellent tips. Everyone should be required to watch this before going up there.

Can you include a video going in depth about the permit system?

Duh....when you're camping around Lincoln Lake or anywhere out in Mt Evans, there are no toilets out in the wilderness area, just at the trailhead. I've camped there many times for 5-7 days & you just need to bury your poop & carry out all trash.

I’m gonna lean on the side of, my dogs don’t need to go up there with me. Or don’t need to get out of the vehicle if they do. It’s already a situation that can require decision-making and focus when your head is not clear because of the altitude. I don’t want to add, holding a dog leash to the mix.

I noticed the permits are only through Labor Day. Is it possible to drive the road in late September after Labor Day?
@nancyincolorado85816 ай бұрын
It says on the website the road will be closed starting Sept 3, 2024 all the way through 2025 and opening in 2026. So no one, car or bike or walking, cargo up the road.

Maybe you can answer here, CPW? As I understand it, as long as I don't get out of my car, I can drive that road without paying the fee?

Still best to check in with the Forest Service on the policies/procedures for Mount Evans. Here is a starting point: www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10087438/ticket/10087439

Sounds like the main thing to know is, Let's not destroy the fragile eco system of the mountain. Anything else you need to know about going up there is pretty much common sense or can be found online.

Have you considered electromagnetic frequencies as a cause of the exacerbated E. coli? Just curious.

More chance it's caused by humans leaving their crap up on the mountain.

I thought this link would give info on the permit system and hours. Not 5 minutes of poop talk
