Thank you for your knowledge. I love coloring botanicals with my favorite Polychromos pencils and my artist husband is teaching me about shade and highlight. Once we start to SEE the shadows and the highlights, then it's just a matter of building a bit of skill in rendering them in colored pencil, or graphite, or paint -- each of which takes a bit of getting used to.
