Derwent drawing pencils have a learning curve in coloring to get best results. I messed them up in sharpening. I recommend not using electric sharpener. You can deal with them like pastel pencils

I have the Prima Princesses watercolor coloring book. It has portraits of women with florals. I'm excited to start working on it. I'll probably buy a second copy because I'm a bit intimidated to start in it and mess up. lol I also just purchased the whole Black Widow collection as a backup. I still need to get Monarch and the Dark Skin. I have the Derwent Drawing pencils, they are AMAZING for skin! They're SUPER soft and a little goes a LONG way. I just can't get over how soft they are and how great they are for skin.

Hi Kori! I have both the Blick and Koh-I-Noor Polycolor 144. Both sets are manufactured in the Czech Republic by Koh-I Noor Hardmuth in the same factory. The 144 set has an incredible section of portrait colors. Great haul! 😃

I bought my Koh i Noor Polycolor 144 set from eBay last year. I love them. Many reviews compare these to the Blick Studio pencils.

Derwent drawing!❤ Such amazing pencils, wish they would make a huge set of them, I'd buy them in a heart beat. They work well with lots of other brands/sets and colours are really useful. I'm sure you'll like them. Interested in what you think of the Polycolors, they are one of the sets I've not yet tried. 👍

Awesome haul Kori! You got a lot of really nice items. I think you'll love your Derwent Drawing Pencils and their Chinese White is the bomb! I use it and Holbein's Soft White pencil for white accents or highlights. It's too bad that Spectrum Noir didn't just make individual marker sets of 9, instead of doing the tri-tone marker sets. They did look awkward to use, to keep from coloring yourself in the process of using each color. Will you be doing a review of the 144 set of Koh-I-Noor pencils? Do you plan on ordering the 72 set of Derwent Chromaflow pencils? Amazon has them in stock now and the International Shipping was free yesterday when I placed my order; Yay!!!

The khoinoor polycolors are very good pencils and I like them a lot. They are similar to the Polychromos but a little less in quality and price.

Will be interested to hear what you think of the Blick colored pencils. I ordered the 72 set back in 2020 and ended up sending them back. I don't know if I got a bad batch or what, but mine were too waxy. They sort of reminded me of crayons. They didn't take layers well at all. My coloring style is multiple layers, so they didn't work for me. I have been wanting that Derwent Drawing set. I have an open stock Chinese White I picked up from a little art store in the area, from before I got into coloring when I was drawing more. I like it, but I still prefer my Prisma white or my Luminance white.

Kori, a couple months ago I got the indracreative pastel pencils and I ended up returning them, I found them very hard with minimal color payoff. Maybe I was using the wrong paper, but I’m shocked to hear people rave about them

I’ve been wanting those Derwent Drawing pencils for a while now. I just can’t stomack the $76 price tag for $24 pencils😱. I will eventually get them AND I’ve had those spectrum Tri Blend markers on my wishlist for the last couple of months. I came this close to buying them around Christmas time, the price went Down 40% to around $44. I ended up choosing something else but they look so cool and easy to use. I would like to know your thoughts on them.🙏🏾🥰😘🤩😍🤗☺

@@ColorfullyOptimistic there is a learning curve and tutorials are hard to come by. I was just wondering how they compared to other alcohol markers. It is neat though that you can use the color tops to blend. Needless to say I am still learning. Might buy a small pac and try them.

They take anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks and sometimes faster. But always plan on that 😆
