One of my favorite things about teaching (38 1/2 yrs.) was the books! I LOVE children's literature and used it as many times a day as possible and then again with my own children. Thanks for the inspiration and for the memories! I say, "YES," to a new series!

WOW Sandy, watching you create these characters was so much fun and amazing. Your talent just blows me away. You have such a gift. The elephant reminds me of the wooly mammoth in the Ice Age movie’s that uses Ray, from Everybody Loves Raymond, voice. I love the trees, so cool.

Oh I love these! Specially the night one …. And his little teefs! ☺️. I did laugh at you though talking about not cleaning the ink off the blending brush properly and using a mix of inks and oxide …. I do all that and I too don’t have full collection of either one … I do enjoy blending with inks and just purchased another three sets of four mini inks that I just couldn’t live without 🙄 …. Well done on these two cards!

OH MY! I love everything about this post! Love Maurice Sendak, (one of my favorites to read to my class when I was teaching elementary). I was just fascinated at how the simple images just came to life as your were inking! I could have watched that all day!! Just beautiful!! Thank you for the inspiration!

I'm always in awe watching the process. Thanks again for sharing your amazing inspiration and talents!

I did it! I made three cards today based on this brilliant idea. I didn’t really modify my animals much (apart for give my llama a pink Mohawk and painted toenails!) I don’t have any solid animal stamps so the texture on the critters was already on the stamp. It I used your ideas to complete the background. It was soooo much fun and two of the cards are for guys. Super hard to do. I did Matt them all with a skinny black matt, which gave them a cartoon quality.
