Great flipthrough! I wasn't sure what to expect when it arrived yesterday, but I love it! It's so different! (There is a fairy sitting right next to the mermaid in the chair. I thought that was cute. A fairy, mermaid, and gnome all sitting there together.)

I just got my book too. I love Denyse's art. I do find some gnomes are too small for me, but it doesn't take away from all the whimsy. The pictures with the adorable houses, I think, is the neighborhood. Thanks for another fine review 😊

Denyse's art is truly imaginative and unexpected. I love how she challenges the preconceptions of what a fairy looks like or a gnome. Some of the gnomes are a bit small for me as well but fortunately, there's plenty that are just right and if worse comes to worse I'll just use the magnifying lamp. Even the concept of a neighborhood rather than woods or a garden is different and those houses are just adorable! Enjoy your new book! Happy coloring x

I love it! The houses are so Adorable! That was the one tiny thing I wanted from Fairies in Dreamland. Houses. I got why there weren't any but I love tiny houses. Finally I get some! The Gnomes do look a bit odd but I thought that about all Gnomes I've seen. 8:53 "Waiting for her Amazon package" Haha Haha 😂 !! She does! That's so me waiting for my books to come lol! I think having the Mermaids show up is Good to! It's world building. Telling a story with illustrations. Like who is it Debbi Macomber? I have her coloring book but it's based off her books. And she has like the same yarn shop through several books. It helps connect the story's in the different books to make a World. So like now I want more of this World! Can't wait to get mine! I can imagine you sitting there waiting for the AZ box to turn up! The houses are just fabulous and I always think buildings are such a great way to start coloring (less pressure than faces and people lol). Denyse, I think, always gives us something unexpected and not what you think ...like her wispy fairies and partying mermaids...I think it's the same with the gnomes. It's great to see all these different artistic interpretations of imaginary creatures. Debbie's book is amazing the way it connects with her novels so you can feel that you are on a journey. It's quite a knack I would think to create that world. Hope you enjoy your package x Happy coloring x

I love that you are trying to resist the little gnomes! Maybe Santa will bring it to you :) . The little fairies are there but when I film I don't have my glasses on. LMAO here she is waiting for her Amazon order to arrive!! Our neighbors look like Gnomes so when this book came out my mister and I had quite a chuckle. I didn't think I would like this book but I really do, I'll add it to my list. I found her first two on the Book Outlet site for around $4-$5 each so they should be arriving any day. Thanks Lea!!

Thank you for the flipthrough. I'm a bit dissapointed with the interpretation of Denyse gnomes. I grew up with the illustrations by dutch illustrator Rien Poortvliet. I don't like the faces of the female gnomes. Denyse gnomes look more like trolls, I wish that they had more like normal faces (as the fairies and mermaids), than only a very big nose. In the mermaids book there are more different animals. When I think about gnomes, I would expected more woodland creatures (and mushrooms). But when I watched the video a second time, I like the book more. And after a fifth time, I will buy the book, because they are very cute.

I love your thought process! Thank you for sharing the name of the illustrator. I've seen those pictures so many times and never knew who created them. Because I'm so familiar with them, they are also my preconceived idea of what a gnome is. However, Denyse always uses her own style with her books (her stick thin fairies and mermaids of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds) so I would never expect her gnomes to fit the mold of what I imagined. She always goes on a path of her own and I guess that's the same with the woodland v the neighborhood. The gnomes are adorable and the little gnome houses really are the best imo! I got my copy yesterday. I am a bit disappointed though. Lots of pictures are similar scenes from the fairy one and I am not crazy about the way the gnomes are done. My opinion only. I probably won't do much in it.

Ghislaine Portelance I feel the same way. The male gnomes are cute, but the female gnomes look weird in my opinion

Denyse always interprets things in a different way, I think, from what my imaginary ideas are of things. I love that about her art because it's a bit challenging and unexpected in a familiar way. The wonderful thing is that there are so many coloring books to choose from that there will always be something to suit every taste and budget. I hope you enjoy looking at the book even if you decide not to color it. Happy coloring x

I'm always of the view that there is a coloring book out there for everyone - no matter their budget, style or location. This one may not be for you, but I'm sure you will find many others to enjoy. Happy coloring x
