What a sound! That was fun, from the intro to the last note. Since my great-uncles belonged to a church trombone choir in Masuria in East Prussia, I grew up early on with that powerful but melting sound. I had the fun of joining a 16-piece big band for a few months in my twenties - four trombones in addition to the usual suspects like Trump, clar./sax., baryton/bass, as I recall - and playing convincing swing music (albeit with rhythm guitar) - so the sound is still in the blood. Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey would have had a field day hearing something like that - a complete piece for solo trombone and a real challenge for the whole band. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen - I'll keep watching for your appearance on this channel.
