@Eriko. Oy You’ve misunderstood me. I’m a black woman, that’s it, nothing else. And it’s hard to love myself sometimes in a world that idealises euro-centric features. For me, this is what the song is about and that’s why I appreciate it so much. It says to me “you’re a black girl and that’s beautiful enough so get with it sis!” And that’s empowering.

We all go through times when we can only find fault in ourselves, and then comes a time when learn that beauty is not in other's eyes, rather it is in our own. I hope you get to see your incredible beauty, and most of all learn to appreciate it. You do not need to look like anyone else to be beautiful. 🤗

@Johanna Niesha.... as a black woman, this quote really stood out for me... “ if there is beautiful flower in the middle of the rainforest and no one ever sees it, does that make it any less beautiful?” I have been where you are sister and yes, it is difficult to be in societies where we are never are or will ever be the standard of beauty. That doesn’t make us any less beautiful, it’s just a different type of beauty. Much love Sis ❤️🖤💚

"Never wanna put us in the media." They don't. Especially on this song, which even calls it out. Jorja's face was all over this trend. When I searched it up last week, I was surprised to see that the song wasn't by Jorja. Though they're both Black women, they should both be involved in the shine of this song since it talks about issues we all face. As a "medium tone" girl, I like seeing both sides shine.
