Just played this last weekend and it was not fun. The social aspect of the game is gone, everyone just does their own thing. The time between rolls are short if you misplace a bet you miss making other bets by time you fix it. Just doesn't have the same feel even if the table is full of players there isn't much excitement.

Haha I was at this machine just a few weeks ago. Reno is my go-to because I live in Northern California. Silver Legacy also has one of these machines. What I really like about them is that you can play full-on dark side, and since everyone is focused on their own terminal, no one gets bent out of shape about what you do.
@rickysmith60412 жыл бұрын
honestly I don't care about what others think, I mostly play the pass line because of how the odds work (they have a higher payout so less risk) but that's not really how it is for me. I do feel related to everyone when I play the pass line, but I DON'T feel scared of people if I did play the don't and I don't feel angry towards the people that play the don't. Many people play the pass line because of the community experience (along with the house edge being almost the same), but playing the don't pass doesn't make a difference. People are only using the community experience as the deciding factor to pick between something that's basically the same. It's like when the brand name of something is the same or almost the same price as the generic brand item. And again, the main reason I play the pass is because of how odds work.

I actually like this table as it gives the player some flexibility with bets and doesn’t overburden dealers with unconventional bets that require constant chip handling. Players aren’t as reluctant to make bets they otherwise might feel human dealers see as dumb or keep them too busy without getting regular tips. I’ve also seen longer rolls on these tables not typical on traditional crap tables.

June 2022: Once I found Color Up I was able to LEARN Craps without a lot of scattered instructions, if ands & buts, and hours of fluff fluff comments. Thank you Color Up! After a month of quick wins on bubble craps, I played on this electronic table/ame in Vegas for the first time. I broke to ice of getting on a real table without the pressures of a traditional table playing with experienced and $Big Money$ bettors. I did ok. Another thing I love about this game layout is, I have no shame in winning, walking and coming back to win again. I have won hundreds and thousands in a day by not trying to win $1M in one session (including Blackjack & Roulette). Also, this video explains how the players bet panel works. I lost about $300 because I couldn't figure out how to "Cancel All" before the clock locked me out and ..... that 7 rolled. I was trying to pull off bets one at a time. Note: Cancel All will not remove a Pass line bet if the game is in play with an established point. Thats enough of my fluff fluff!

My casino was one of the first in the world to get these and I’m actually a fan. Sure it’s a bit more dull than the real craps table but it’s the next best thing. As a player it has its perks: paying true odds, lower minimums, bonus bets (if your casino doesn’t have things like ATS, Hop Bets, etc), the hot shooter bet is neat, and more. Rolling on plexiglass is different than felt but it’s still a nice alternative. Plus, only one dealer is required. Not too shabby. It was definitely different when first dealing it though. The machine does the speaking for you if you don’t want to make the calls. Very neat machines though. Definitely recommend playing them if you’re a newer craps player for many reasons, mainly because you don’t have to worry about interrupting rolls with buying in or slowing down the game with press moves or coming down, etc.

I love this, especially with rising inflation. You don't need several employees to run a live table. It brings new people into craps, and also allows for lower bets. The screen is a lot less intimidating and it can answer any questions with regards to what certain bets pay. I think we're 1-3 years from seeing $25 minimums everywhere on the strip. I hate $15 tables. With this, $5 and $10 minimums will be the norm. I would be totally fine with $5 roll to win craps tables, a $10 roll to win table, along with $25 live tables. The only thing I don't like is that they left on the Big6/8. My long term concern would be that they would remove the rounding, because the casino could make a lot of extra money if they did away with paying all bets to the penny. Perhaps in the future they will move that to the quarter, and eventually the dollar. Very cool though, thanks for the video!

I agree with just about everything you said. It's a less intimidating entry-point for beginners but it's not as good of an experience once you know what you are doing. They really need to add dealer bets, which wouldn't be difficult to program in. The few times I've played them, I'll usually do a $11 pass line, and put $3/$4/$5 on top of my odds and tell the dealer I've got them on top. I also wish stick could short-circuit the timer if it's obvious there's going to be no betting action (e.g. a horn number roles mid-game when no one's playing the props). Just push button and send dice.

I think the next step in craps is simplifying the screen layout. You picked up on the Big 6 / Big 8 being something to avoid; there's a lot of complication to the traditional craps layout that could be simplified where there aren't physical chips, and a player is on a separate layout to other players. With switchable screen layouts like you have with stadium games, you could have the option of a "traditional" or a "modern" screen layout for craps. A "modern" layout could be less intimidating to new players.

This is pretty cool. One reason I don’t play craps is the intimidation factor. I know the rules, but I’m just always a little worried about making a mistake and making an improper bet or betting too slow and ruining the flow of the game for the the rest of the table. This would allow me to just play at my own pace and it seems like it corrects any improper bets I might try to make. I’ve played bubble craps and enjoyed that. Again, you can’t make any mistakes or interrupt the flow of the game when you play bubble craps but you’re totally isolated when you play that game. I know that craps tables can be a lot of fun when everybody is playing together, especially if they’re winning, so this game seems like kind of the best of both worlds.

He’s not a high roller so he sticks to $25 bets, which seems to be the minimum at all the strip casinos, except for maybe the dumps like Circus Circus or something. I’m not exactly sure, but I think he usually plays 5,6,8 and 9. You have to bet $30 on 6 and 8 right? I swear one time he told me that every time he starts off he’s betting $135. $25 on the Pass Line, $25 on 5 and 9 and $30 on 6 and 8. Then he just keeps going and takes his winnings and hopes that the shooter doesn’t roll a 7. He can get on a nice roll, but if the shooter rolls a 7 on his or her first roll he gets screwed.

I dig those tables. You can play alone and never have to deal with people unless you are the shooter and even then it's a dealer with a stick that gives the dice to you and that's all that dealer does with you. Get your bets in before the timer runs out. Dice control is a bit different. Took me a while just to get the dice to the back wall. I can throw dice on that table and land them a few inches from the back wall and never hit the wall. That was strange and I had to figure how to get to the wall so the pit lady would quit giving me grief. not comfortable shooting while having to lean over stuff to get to the table. It's a good game, stress free, easy going. No pressure, no people to deal with. Still not as good as the big table but it will definitely do the trick and you can make big money on those tables just like the big tables. We finally got Craps in AZ in late 2021 and we have both, live craps and these digital display ones. There's pros and cons to this way. PROS: No chips to get in the way Only 1 dealer needed Self-service makes doing complicated systems much easier Smaller table is a dice-setters dream(imo) It keeps track of the number of rolls CONS: It goes a little slow, waiting for everyone to place their bets. (but I noticed your table has a timer similar to bubble craps, which we don't have at the ones here in AZ(wish we did)) Beginner may be less intimidated but there's no one to teach them how. If you're not quick, the dealer may lock bets up before you're done. Once they're in, that's it. They can't unlock and allow for changes. Actually had an issue once, where the guy rolled, lost his pass line bet and the dealer didn't notice that he didn't replace it and he threw again. Then we had some other issue and the pit boss was confused as to why he was the shooter with no line bet. Another issue was when the dealer called out and entered the wrong number on a roll. Called it "7 out" and it was an Eight. Took nearly 30 mins for them to confirm with the cameras and put our bets back up. If you bet the DP, it's locked in, you can't take it down once the point is set. You can't put odds less than the table minimum. Remember to tip the dealer(which I think is easier to forget here) I actually don't think these will kill the game. I enjoy both versions for different reasons.

Interesting to see how the RTW machines vary from casino to casino. At my local casino, there isn’t a countdown timer between rolls. The dealer watches the bets come in and has the ability to close the bets and send dice when they want. It’s a nice feature when you are struggling to get all your bets in. The RTW machine I play on also has a Hot Shooter Bonus bet that pays 2:1 after 16 rolls, 3:1 after 24 rolls all the way up to 10:1 after 50 rolls. It pushes between 8 and 16 rolls and loses if you roll less than 8.

Only takes one dealer so casino saves money on labor. Also, the hard surface takes a toll on the dice in the way of beating them up. "Damaged" dice will start rolling patterns. I usually leave this kind of table with a profit. I do like the dice history being kept up with. Some people think that's not important but it's good to track repeaters and where the dice are hitting as a trend.

This is my first time seeing this table. I wish we had them at my casinos because the regular craps tables are often completely crowded and it’s difficult to get the dealers’ attention. After learning about craps from ColorUp I tried this at horseshoe tunica. When I first sat down it was little tough and the timer was too quick. I then went to a live table and tried the 6/8 stretch strategy I learned on ColorUp, the dealer seemed annoyed, lost my $200 stack then went back to the digital game shown here. Def liked this better for a beginning and sticking to a strategy cause you don’t bother the dealer all that much. I ended up winning over $1,000 on the trip all from this digital craps. Pros and cons on this. A local poker room/charity casino just put a table in. Pros: Faster game, less time to make payouts after each roll, and the ability to skip the countdown when requested. Accuracy, payouts are always correct, while incorrect pays are not too common at regular tables, that is not an issue here. Join in whenever. Now you jump in during a roll without slowing the game down by dropping cash on the table. Cons: Sometimes it felt too much like playing on an App. I do miss tossing chips and giving instructions to the dealers. Playing for the dealers. I usually love to toss something to play for dealers on the come out and such. Yelling it out usually got at least one more person to get the dealers some action. You can still do that here but then just send the winnings as a tip after. End result is the same but doesn’t feel like that same excitement. Dealer oversight. One of the benefits of playing for the dealers is they can look out for you. A reminder here or there to replace your hardway bets, things like that were appreciated. The computer won’t have that extra touch to remind you that hardway May have come down, or you forgot a field bet, etc. Last is that there is only one dealer. These tables will basically put craps dealers out. What once needed 4 people now needs 1. Never a fan when table technology results in lost jobs.

I agree with everything but the lost jobs. I don't think this is replacing real tables, its just being added, so really just adding one more spot. I certainly hope it is just bridge back to past and brings more players to real tables and doesn't replace them.

Hey Color Up, so nearest casino with craps table(Live in Mpls area) to me is in Iowa about 1 hr 30 away from where I live. They have 2 live craps tables and Roll to Win Craps. The casino had a dealer on the Roll To Win but now they have it set on random roller where you press a button to throw the dice. It sucks now. I do believe this is the wave of the future for craps and the whole stadium thing is a new way to trying out Craps. My friend and I call it Spaceship Craps which we both will not play at the local casino. Now I did play Roll To Win in Vegas last month which you could throw the dice there but the table was $15. Just my 2 cents opinion.

Hi, Jeremy, they have one of these type tables at the L'Auberge casino in Lake Charles LA where I like to play. The table is at least as popular as the regular tables. It may put some dealers out of a job, but as long as the players are still able to shoot the dice themselves, it sounds good. I used to live in Reno, almost 20 years ago, when the Grand Sierra was still the Reno Hilton. Back then, i used to bowl, and I had my best three-game series at the bowling alley there (do they still have it?). Anyway, how do you like Reno, compared to Colorado?

Excellent video. We have the same table here in Tampa, but no stickman. Instead, the shooter hits a button to "throw" digital dice across the table, much like the chips digitally "shoot" across when different stations make bets. It's been almost fully busy the few times I've seen it in action and I agree that it could help revitalize the game. The graphic make the game fun to watch just as a spectator, even for people who aren't familiar with the game. And for the first timers, it's way low intimidation factor is a bonus. As long as you don't say the bad number, you don't have to risk stepping on peoples toes by making bets with the dice out or interacting with the dealer at the wrong time. A table like this probably would also make certain strategies easier to play since you can put up or take down different chip values on the fly to vary up your strategy, instead of bugging the dealers with, take this down, move that to that, and press the outside by this.... then a few rolls later, take this down, move this to that, turn those on but turn those off, and blah blah blah. At least you're throwing real dice. In Florida, only card games have live dealers. It's all mechanical craps and roulette tables here. So far the law only allows live dealers on card table games like Blackjack, Spanish 21, mini baccarat, 3 card poker and such. I haven't played my local table, but I'm looking forward to controlling the Place/Buy bets on and off when I want to.

Nice video on the Roll to Win Machine! I hope to get out to Reno and play at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino this summer. I agree it is an inexpensive way for new players to learn at a lower limit table. When table minimums get too high for lower level bankrolls, this is a great option to try and win your way to the higher level table if you color up. The graphics and sounds are very exciting and the large screen can attract a lot of eyeballs when you can't see what is going on at a busy table.

So I love craps! I really do. However, my first time walking onto a game casino floor, I was terrified! I kinda knew black jack. I kinda knew roulette. So I tried those first. I watched a craps full table, but wasn't going near it. As well, the buy in was $200. I had $60 bucks after losing my $100 that night. But a fancy electronic craps table called to me. So after still much coaxing by my friends, I sat down. A husband and wife team started showing me bets while my friends showed me others. That's when I realized I liked the game. Then, my turn rolling had me sweating. Sure enough my second through I launched those dice across the room. The dealer laughed in a good natured way. The other folks had fun with it. They called me Hercules at the table. So I sat there for 2 hours having a good time as the waitress brought me drinks as we all had a good time. My friends drifted to their games. At about 1 AM, they dragged me away since we had things to do in the AM. I would have NEVER played on a real table. This was.a perfect entry level into the game. This was a prefect way to learn "Screw all other games, let's play some craps!" And as always, thanks Color Up for showing me interesting strategies while informing me of how the game works more deeply!

Biggest issue I see with this is the same I've had at bubble craps and digital roulette games: make sure that touchscreen works and is calibrated correctly. Can't tell you how many times I have touched a bet only to have it not register, touch it a second or third time, and then right before time expires it registers ALL of my touches at once. Or when the calibration is off so you touch one place and then it puts a bet next to where you actually touched and then you have to hurry and try to fix it. Other than that, gotta love the digital age!!

If I had a choice between this and the bubble craps I would choose the bubble craps... the kind with the single set of dice, not the individual bubbles. you can sit comfortably and you dont have dopes constantly fiddling with the dice only to toss them off the table. You still have the common focus on the outcome of the dice. That being said, I have had good and bad experiences at bubble craps. Usually everyone is into it supporting the shooter like at a live table but sometimes there are issues with players complaining or carrying on with non-players. Nothing beats a hot live table; If you can afford it.

I hope this isn't the future and that things remain the same. I feel that when things get automated, I lose that 'feel' of having some control over what I am doing and that things cannot be manipulated in favor of the casinos (more than they already are). This is the same reason why I only play BJ and Craps and never play slots. Plus, this appears to ruin the social aspect of the game that is what is a huge draw for me in the first place.

I love these machines. You can see everything that's happening so well. It's like having your own jumbo-tron for the results. All the payouts are calculated to the penny. It's colorful and fun. And most of all, the table minimum is only $5 on most of these machines, which is amazing. I like low table minimums because it gives you more flexibility. You can have tons of fun just playing $5 a throw on the pass line, or you can take odds and/or place the 6/8 if you're feeling good. My options are pretty limited at the traditional $10-25 tables. In my area, it's $25 minimums during all peak hours. Not very fun or flexible. The only downside I see, is the strict timer for getting your bets made. Some of these machines really force the pace, which kinda sucks. Too bad they don't dial-back the timer a little bit. But other than that one complaint, I don't see any downside. There's still a social element to the game, because you're still throwing real dice and betting along with others, but you have a little privacy and autonomy too. It's really a win/win. 100% better than bubble craps. Great video.
@josephb1884 Жыл бұрын
From a mechanical standpoint, I don't know how I feel about those obvious seams in the table that could catch the dice and affect dice rolls. I wish I could have heard you tell me about about how the dice react to the surface as opposed to the traditional felt/fabric surface - I suspect dice setters wouldn't be too happy with a change in that experience. Physical Appearance - At first glance, it's shiny and cool. I'd be drawn like a moth to the light. It looks I can see the scratch marks on the table surface on closer inspection, which will only get worse over time with wear. Also, since the graphics don't change much, there's going to be eventual burn-in that will affect the montiors' appearance over time. I can imagine that it's going to cost the casinos considerably more to service these machines than a traditional table might. I do like that it eliminates chance of hitting someone's ill-placed chips at the other end of the table. I do like that it makes it gives the player a little more control over their bets (and accountability for their own mistakes). Seeing a record of the latest rolls is pretty cool as well.

For cashless betting during the COVID age this is the way to go. Problem is it's a slot machine and taxed as such, and you can be locked out waiting for a handpay during a hot turn. My local bubble craps has a $195 line bet max with 2X odds so the total of the win & the bet don't total $1200 or more. It's OK for a lower roller table, but if you're pressing your bets to payouts of $1200 or more go to a real table. I noticed the max bet on the PB/Buy 4 was $1200 on your kiosk when the table max sign says $2,000. Why? I kind of like being able to progress my bets in ways that don't pay to the dollar, and this kind of table would allow that to some degree until I start getting handpays. But I'm sure the stick person will tell you to hit the back wall with both dice!
@ColorUp2 жыл бұрын
Most jurisdictions these are classified as electronic table games and have same rules and requirements as table and not categorized as slots. Some areas do not have electronic table games in their laws yet, so they choose to classify as slots or tables. Some machines do print out at $1200 but do not get taxed as they do not meat standards to get a W2G which also includes a payout of 300:1 which no bet on the table meets. Not sure why some bets on this machine were $1200 max? They let some short rolls go, as long as shooter was making a real effort. But I know some casinos are very strict.
