I may be harsh calling it "basic" but this color has clearly been done by several brands and there are 2 other inks we have gotten in this calendar alone that are so similar. Sigh. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Heavy sheen is a special feature, usually, sorta, but in my experience blue that sheens red goes all the way back to blue ballpoints, the only color we were allowed to use in highschool. I think that's how this particular type of color gets considered basic even though we'd flip for it if it was a purple base with red sheen.

first off, this is a GREAT video, i love to see an honest review! so often planner fandom is a neverending roll of positivity, and i get wanting to say nice things but we can be nice without actually lying, right? (that's what you did here) i do think it's a lovely color but you're not wrong that it's also the same as like half your blue collection, lol. i'm sorry youre frustrated, i would be too

Thank you! I always want to be honest, it helps no one if I'm not. The color is pretty and I will use it, I just really think that this calendar shouldn't have been marketed as a "holiday" thing. To me, holiday means joy, and this calendar has not brought me joy haha

I'm in the "looks like polar glow" camp. Too many inks look like it, but POLAR GLOW's the GOAT. 😝

Polar Glow is the GOAT haha. I don't have a sample of it anymore but I think this ink is very similar.

Reminds me a bit of Diamine Polar Glow. Nice and writing and great for art. Nice ink but the disappointment of the total calendar overwhelms.

It is a great dupe for polar glow. I will give the ink that it is pretty and legible and a great consistency. But for the calendar price I feel like I got the "random" sample bag at goulet and it's underwhelming.

I’m sorry you aren’t impressed by the calendar but granted they are glass and bigger bottles of ink so not necessary not worth the money. I think perhaps their first year, they still have to figure out what people really want in an advent. Some people love it all though, because they are lovely inks and great for standard writing.

I agree that the bigger bottles and the glass bottles are a win. But let me do some math really quick. (this is nothing against your comment, I think this is a great way to discuss what these advents have going for them) For the Colorverse calendar: asking price $180+tax with 24 glass bottles at 15ml each. Each bottle roughly worth $7.50, each ml of ink roughly 50 cents. For the Diamine calendar: asking price $120+tax with 24 plastic 12ml bottles and 1 30ml plastic bottle. Each bottle roughly $5 we will say just to make it easier, and each ml of ink roughly worth 37 cents. I am getting shimmers and sheen and crazy stuff in the diamine inkvent for 37cents a ml, and with colorverse I am getting standard everyday writing for 50cents a ml. I think for the price that colorvsere asked they should have included more of their higher priced inks like glistening or even shading/sheening. I will give the colorvent its grace that it has given some great standard inks that will be easily used year round and can be great in several pens, but for next year, unless this calendar has some more interesting things in the days to come, they wont be getting my money again.

@@mydandeliondiariesThese are the 15ml bottles, not the tiny ones, so they retail at $15 each in the US (the tiny 5ml ones retail at $7). The full 24 bottle calendar would cost $360 at full bottle price, so we got it for a savings of $180. The Diamine 30ml bottles retail at $8, and we only get one of those. I’m not sure what the full retail price of their calendar would be because the tiny bottles we get aren’t available in other products, as far as I’m aware. However, if we go with the $5 you estimate, then the Diamine calendar full retail price would be $128, for a savings of $8.

I swear, at this point I'm making sure to watch your colorvwrse vids on my phone, so the ads roll and you get ANY money out of them that is possible. 😢😂 You took the hit for your community, but Colorverse kinda ensured their 2025 calendars won't sell well.

Theyre making it easy to pick the top inks to add to the permanent collection ha. I do not think there is much nuance to make them stand out between these 3 once in a pen.

Colorverse has dropped the bottle of ink this go round. I would have figured they would have had a much more interesting set so as to inspire next years purchase . However, I am finding I will not be interested in one next year if they continue. BORING! I already have 20 blue inks that have RED SHEEN!!!! UUGH😢

I'm not really expecting anything "groundbreaking" but 3 blue/purple inks with sheen? really? They could've done a black ink with sheen and I would've been happier. For a collection with 24 inks I wouldn't expect to have 3 inks so similar all together. Its disappointing.
