I should color again. I just lost my Mom on August 17th 10 days before my Dad’s 2 year anniversary of him passing away. I am having severe anxiety everyday. I know doing art will help but I’m having a hard time getting started again with my sadness. Her funeral is on the 7th and I am so heartbroken 💔 Thank you for posting your videos always calm me. God bless you and everyone

My heart goes out to you. My life changed dramatically a few yrs ago starting with my partner having a heart attack and then losing my mom. Her birthday just passed and it was a tough day so I relate to this. Coloring is what I turned to to help deal with the changes in my life. For me relaxing music and Mandala or Zentangle helps because it is easy and repetitive.

Thanks. I love the white lines on the crystals and the white stars on the dark sky. Very nice to watch for insomnia and anxiety. I color with markers now as my older hands ache with arthritis. I never imagined coloring would become painful.

Absolutely beautiful picture. Wowzie just love the colors you used. Wish I had the talent you do to be able to choose what colors to use 😪 😕 I can sit for hours trying to figure out what colors I want to use then I start end up having too light or too dark of colors in the full picture. I just don't have an eye like so many of you artists do to choose what colors will look good with a picture. 🙄😥

I definitely agree with what Gabrielle said, learning the colour theory would be a great start, especially for beginners. At least that's how I started when I was a beginner artist. I would also recommend purchasing the Sarah Ranae Clarks colouring catalog if u have the chance. It has so many different and beautiful palettes, definitely recommend her. I've been using her catalog for months now and it's helped me out so much and I never run out of inspiration.

When you color the gems/diamonds... did you just spontaneously know how to do this? Or how on earth do you figure this stuff out? I know having youtube in this day and age is a life saver because its so easy to find tutorials...but I can't get over how impressive it is to just watch you knock these pictures out without any mistakes! Do you have a lot of trial and error? I'm so curious what your beginning process is for every picture!

Yeah…I get it! I have her “Secret Garden”. Got it long before knew I could do it justice, but was able to get it for like 4/5 dollars off the normal price. By the time I knew I could do it justice, I had learned the hard way that I just don’t do well with that much teeny tiny detail, it stresses me out, just the opposite of what coloring is suppose to do! I am okay with a small amount of it, but the whole page basically, nope, no way, no how!

@PursuingHeaven3 жыл бұрын
After watching so many videos I notice Chris does not do this and I can't speak for her but she uses sometimes 50 to 60 different pencils - no joke. So my recommendation is to take a section at a time, like the gems that are first done, and put the video on pause then slowly push the forward button. You will see all the pencils clearly listed and it is usually only a color combo. For example, the gems are powder blue, violet-blue, indigo, lavender, ultramarine, hot pink, and white gel. You will spend about 30 mins just doing that. Then pause it again for the next section. You will also find that sometimes Chris fast-forwards a section because she has already shown you how to do the same technique. From what I can tell she wants to empower the learner as much as possible on their own to try what she is doing. At first, it can be a little frustrating but with the video on pause and careful observation, it is really easy to do her tutorials.

@@PursuingHeaven that's exactly what i do. Watch over and over and stop the video. then color in the " part with the same color combinations Chris has already done. It's slow, but I'm learning a lot.
