Gary F'N Moore...One of the true masters of the guitar. Totally unreal, and way, way before the huge shredder surge of the 80's. RIP.

Incredible drumming...he is one of the greatest and most underrated drummers in history. Anyway every musician here is superb.

Gary was UNREAL and so underappreciated.

And Don Airey is a true master of the synth! It's that that gave Colosseum 2 its characterisitic spacey sound

My god Gary was always an incredible guitarist but some of this stuff is just mind blowing...no one can touch him!

He wasn't under-rated at the time of this recording, he was very highly rated.

Incredible drumming.

I love this characteristic sound of the Peter Green Les Paul. Yet it wouldn't have that magic without Moores godlike playing and phrasing

0:45 is actually how later Maiden write their intro riff for the song Invaders from Number of the Beast
@oobenoob5 ай бұрын
Coincidence I would say. I can’t imagine early maiden being aware of much colosseum ii, even though individually the players were well known.

Yes, definitely one of the very first shredders. Holy shit I had almost forgotten this video. I was stoned out of my mind the first time I watched it at a friend's house.

I think Steve Harris of Iron Maiden liked this song. Intro to 'Invaders' off 'The Number of the Beast', check it out. Gary Moore - Irish legend...:)

Gary moved with the times quite well, dumping styles and bands like someone changing underwear. Blues, rock, fusion, 80’s metal, and back to blues. Ironically, his most ill suited style, blues, was his most successful period. Found everything after 1990 incredibly boring. Gary was a great rock player, but blues he wasn’t.

Which is why he played those hard rock and metal solos when he played those songs from his blues albums. I agree man, this pre blues era material was much more exciting.

Wow thats a surprise... Gary Moore playing in a prog rock band. Probably influenced his later work. Good music for that time (eg ELP, Camel, JohnMcLaughlin), weird disco lighting and dance moves.

This is music that takes time to know - it's just not a first-time type of track. The people complaining about it being a song going nowhere or a shred-fest are clearly used to simpler music, chewing-gum crap with instant hooks, designed for the brain-dead listener of 2022.

Great playing but nothing like FG, both from a harmonic perspective, and especially the fact Gary is not sweep picking.

Plenty of drugs supplyed and taken before the whole band left the dressing room fucking hell Gary no wonder you said I DON'T DO DRUGS in later interviews you had your fill playing with this outfit this is far out there a BIG BIG JOINT is required to enjoy but still a master class in playing ability from whole band

Typically crap camera work. Panning and dwelling on John Mole instead of Gary Moore and Don Airey. I think the producer fancied John Mole

snoozefest smooth jazz with fast drumming and a little more distortion - this stuff is the reason Punk Rock was born, and why it was so vital

Can someone please tell me where this song is going. Purely an instrumental fret and key wank. Pah!
@fusionfan6883 Жыл бұрын
Nah it has a structure and a melodic theme, also allowing for some good improvisation, in other words quintessential jazz rock. Either you like this genre or you don’t, and my spidey senses suggest you are in the latter camp😳
