Headed to your your channel today and to my surprise I found this sweet color along, so I had to get started. I love these small victories in this book. Gives you a sense of accomplishment. Your Signo pen works nicely. I have a bit of difficulty with mine skipping. I also love using the misty sparkle spray. Thanks again for another fun color a long.

Oh these smaller pages are so much fun. There was a little whoops in the bottom where the tape wasn’t stuck down properly haha but it’s not too noticeable. 😁

Do you find the background inks smudge or get on the other page when the book is closed? Do you use a fixative?

I haven’t had any issues Nicole. I do use a fixative, but fixative only works for dry mediums so it shouldn’t effect the ink 😁

Are you using a different pad for each color or just one since they're all in the same family?

I can’t remember what I used on this page. If I show multiple tools I’ll be using different pads. If the colours are all in the same family and I’m just working light to dark I’ll often reuse the same pad. Just rub it on some scrap paper to get most of the product off before using it again.

I just tried this...first time using the inks. Luckily i printed a copy instead of going straight into my book because it did not turn out like yours! Lol. Im frustrated and trying to figure out why mine is so blotchy instead of diffused looking like yours. I hope inks are a learning curve and not just impossible for me to do right because this page and the mountain/dolphin page of yours have been on my to do list forever. Backgrounds are tough for me.

@MyColourfulCountryLife I'm embarrassed to admit I already had watched your how to video and still bombed lol. It's hard to know how much ink to pick up, how much pressure to apply, and what part of applicator is being used. I also have no references to know if my ink pads are as wet as they should be or not. They're new but I imagine drying out can still happen. I sure hope I can get it figured out. Thanks for your help!

Of course 😁 They’re called Distress Ink blending tools. There may be some linked in my Amazon store. If not, just type that into your search bar and they’ll pop up. Just make sure you get the tool with foam pads and not the fabric ones. 🤗
