My colour analysis has informed my choice for the last 45 years!!❤

I've had my colors done too. I find that as fabrics sit in my stash, I can see more possibilities for combinations because I've bought from my palette. The fabrics talk to each other and then talk to me so I see the possibilities.

I had an appointment with Nicola on a recent trip to the island & can attest she really is lovely, seriously knowledgeable & very good with the chronically anxious! She (the cat's mother!! 😂) put me at ease right away . I had colour & body shape analysis (I'm also a spring hour glass lol) - It's a lovely experience & I'm really glad I went for it. It's only really been a number of weeks & I've seen a massive change in the way I chose my clothes & how I style... Being a vampire loving, metal head, demi goth, you really will have to pry black out of my cold, undead hands **but** I'm thinking more about the way I wear it. Anything grey is going or being overdyed. I'm also dying my favourite hand tailored white shirt a medium cream colour (it's a beloved shirt to me & I'll not get rid ever) & am having a MASSIVE & long overdue wardrobe cull... Anything RTW that is not part of my colour palette is going, unless it's a beloved piece or has special memories attached. My fabric purchasing has changed completely too ( so far, lol) Much more consideration goes into it now & I'm so much more decisive ❤❤❤

Loved this video, I had my colours done in the 80’s and still have my swatches in a wallet which I refer to still. It becomes 2nd nature to know what colours suit you very quickly xx

I found the neatest thing is that I can see one of my grandchildren in their colour once and think, oh, you're definitely a summer. But I only notice it when it's a match with their season, beacuase they are young and beautiful, but in their colours, they stand out even more. It is easiest to find the winters, because a lot of uniform clothes and formal clothes are black and white, but the advantage of being a spring is that our colours are often on sale, because there are not as many of us....

I've never had my colours done. I do remember many friends in the 80's doing so though. I asked them what sort of things they "took away" from the appt. I've applied those to my style/wardrobe/crafts. I know what colours bring me joy and IMHO that gets reflected in how other perceive me in those colours. I also take note of something I'm wearing and comments that come from it. Like blues or too much brown gets me "are you feeling OK....you look tired". Several years ago my mom-in-law went to the Netherlands (where I'm from) and she said she saw quite a few people wearing orangeish and why don't I wear any. I bought a jersey tunic in a shade of pumpkin orange that I liked. OMG every time I wear that get compliments....even from strangers. I've never been a fan of any pastels. As a sewist and knitter for 54 years, I've "tried" to step out of my colour comfort zone......it always ends in failure and I end up gifting it to friends.

What a joyful video! So much fun to watch 😊 I was thinking that where you have a print on a background that isn't ideal for you, maybe a scarf (in winter), a collar or even some trim sewn in around the neckline in a solid colour from your specific pallete could make it work better for you... Another option, as you love your cardigans, is to pair dresses with a solid coloured cardigan from your colour pallete. Clever use of accessories will definitely help you get the best out of the fabrics you're never going to part with no matter what 😊

I really love the vibes the two of you have together, and the whole make things work for you attitude around colours rather than tossing things from the wardrobe/stash entirely. And clearly, you need a #PeepsMadeMeDoIt to complement our #SianMadeMeDoIt. 🤣❤

I’ve had so much fun watching this video. I first ever heard of having your colours done when I read the first Bridget Jones’ Diary book. It’s not mentioned in the film but her mum keeps talking about it. This was back in the late noughties and have really been into it ever since. In the past year, I got my daughter into it too and we are both obsessed 😂

That was such a fun video! The two of you have the type of energy that boosts each other. ❤❤❤ I'm glad you showed them difference in how the refs look on you and again showed how your personalized color wheel has been working with your fabric choices. That looks like an insurance shopping tool. I know it would help to curb my impulse purchases.😂 Loved this video so much! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I think colour analysis is great in person, but I'm still really skeptical about getting it done online. That really came home to me when Sîan said that her dress was mostly warm tones. In my screen it's completely cool toned. I'm not doubting that it's warm toned, I just can't see how anyone can accurately see your coloring on the screen. Every screen is different and seldom is the true colours. Also, although I think colored hair is a lot of fun, and I'd never tell someone not to do it, I think it confuses the eye into thinking other seasons' colours look good on you when really, it's the hair colour it looks good with, rather than the skin tone, and on the flip side, I think the hair colour almost overpowers the clothing colour making a person look pale even in their proper seasonal clothing colour. Sîan, I'm not referring to your hair colour, I've told you before that I think you look great in every colour, just not quite as great maybe in that winter red, but still great nonetheless.😅 But I've seen some winters and summers in orangy red hair, and no matter what they wear, they look pale. And some autumn's (me included) who look sick with platinum or ash blond hair no matter what autumn colour we have on.

This is very interesting (and funny!), and I have been thinking about getting my colours done, too. I am a bit worried, though, because I can never see the best colours. Like in the beginning here, I thought you looked best in the winter colour. Haha. I have no clue! That is why I have put it off so far, but maybe I'll just go for it anyway :)

You could maybe make a Grace bodice dress and put a Spring colour on the yoke section with the black based feathers piece?

Hard to tell on screen the subtleties of how each colour works for you. Would be great to see a side-by-side...with only white, beside one with colour.
