Yes, my eye color has changed over time. When I was a child, teens, 20's my eyes were deep brown, now they are absolutely hazel with green and gold; however, I have always had a dark blue rim around my iris. It can be very confusing with color analysis.

@callieray.voiceover20 күн бұрын
its because eyes dont have pigment in them other than melanin. blue eyes have no melanin. most babies have blue eyes bc melanin hasnt deposited yet. collagen fibers also affect eye coloring. but blue is no melanin, true green is a little bit, and as more melanin gets added it goes hazel and then brown. lots of collagen can cause gray looking eyes. but eye coloring is just bouncing light (or absorbing light)
@LeighMerrydayPorch19 күн бұрын
@@callieray.voiceover That's really interesting. So, my family just has a genetic quirk to have that melanin kick in a little later than most. That was the best explanation I've heard for this. :)

That is very true regarding "if you're this, you must be that." I have olive skin and green eyes, and my brunette hair always wants to go copper or brassy--so people tend to assume I have a warm skin tone. But I've been professionally analyzed three times by three unrelated consultants, and all three categorized me as a bright winter, which is correct! But I've had makeup salespeople and hairstylists automatically assume I have a warm skin tone because of my seemingly "warmer characteristics." The reality is that I look awful in warm colors. So, a professional analysis is the best way to determine your correct color season by taking everything into account and, of course, knowing what they're doing. Lol! (Oh, and for anyone who's curious, Sarah did not do my color analysis, but I would get analyzed every month if I could afford it because I love watching everyone come to the same conclusion at the end. LOL

I had green eyes as a child, but by my teen years they became more hazel. Now I feel like they are more brown w/ just a slight greenish section around the perimeter. My dad and brother's eyes both darkened from gold to amber. My eyes are heterochromic (both sectoral and ringed) and it turned out I had the same gold-to-amber colour in rings along with a dull aqua. When young it was yellow-green so my eyes looked predominantly green but somewhere in my 30s the inner ring became very rusty orange. Because there are so many colours in my eyes that clash, they mostly just look dull and muddy now and are more accurately described as hazel these days.

My hair changed color after pregnancy. From a light blonde to a more strawberry blonde. And also got wavy. I think it might be due to the hormonal changes and possibly changes in nutrition ratios. After my pregnancy I got overload of copper (often seen with estrogen dominance) in relation to zink. This copper/estrogen dominance is normal, but should normalize pretty soon, but it did not on me. I went to a nutritionist and got help in getting the balance back to normal, and a couple years later, my hair is basically back to normal. Though still wavy. I have heard similar stories from other women. And also heard that some after a second pregnancy got their hair back to straight again. It's kind of a mystery, but yeah, hormones and nutrition plays a role, I think. I remember though that I really struggled with my strawberry hair, because I felt it didn't suit me. Turns out I am a summer and the new warm toned hair was not great for me. It wouldn't surprise me if a similar thing can happen to eyes too. Interesting.

I'm definitely one with changing colour in my eyes, and my mum was too. She had dark brown eyes that were more blue by the time she was in her 80s. Mine have always been a cool green, but now in my 60s they are more of a lighter blue. That, along with my white hair, has made it difficult with colour. I did have dark brown hair, fair skin (my Irish ancestry...) and was a clear winter. Now the bright colours are too strong for me, as I have so little contrast left.

Hi Sarah! Love your makeup-free skin by the way. A couple of observations: In my case, my eyes have gotten bluer and brighter with age. I had my VCA a few years ago as a Warm Spring by another analyst and I agree with this individual. However this person says for example that a Winter can not have blond hair for example or that since my hair is not dark I can not be a Bright Spring and I was a bit baffled by those narrow guidelines. This person mostly focused (or in my opinion they think it's most important) on eye pattern and my blue eyes have a yellow starburst around the pupil which is what I have always heard is a sign of Spring and in my case a Warm one which made sense. Your thoughts on starbursts in the eye?

What do you think of results of different analysis systems? Which of the ones you don't use makes you feel most at home with the results and which make you wonder how they arrived at the particular one? According to one house of color video I watched , the consultant mentioned that England had the most Autumn's and Ireland had the most Winter's. How does that compare to yours? I see a lot of House of Color client videos with mid range intensity to their looks wind up Winter category. Also popular are Korean analysis where they might put people with black hair in everything from Winter, to spring or muted autumn.... I always wonder what countries/analysis studios have the most of a given season or sub season to date but they're all so different. What have you had the most and least of so far? Of the channels I've watched the most,so far,deep autumn and dark winter seem the most common, summers the most likely to be a true,and Bright Winter is one I'm still hoping to see .

I have gray eyes and nobody ever uses them in examples. I think I've seen it like a few times on websites abut that's about it lol. It's very bright/clear gray with a black ring around the outside. People say it doesn't matter but my eyes are my best feature and very clear bright skin. It's the first thing you notice about me when I walk in the room. My eyes adapt to what is around them too so they look blue, but they aren't, many people cannot tell gray vs blue. That is a good video example. Also, so is how to tell brown hair vs. black hair. People see my hair and automatically label it as black... it's a level 4 so hardly black. That's kind of annoying too, lol. So is the issue people who cannot tell bright people/contrast levels for seasons when people have tanned brown skin or when you're black. i see more videos coming out on analysis if you're black but there's a spot missing if you're medium in skin tone, and those cultures. I'm Latina/Middle Eastern and white and I'm a BW and can cross easily to BS. But when I tan people cannot see that and it's very interesting you can only see high contrast in white porcelain skin toned people too. Just a few things I've noticed on the topic of misconceptions lol.

Used to think I was Soft Summer but now realize I'm Bright Winter as very bright lipstick looks a millions times better on me (and normal on me) than softer grey-toned pinks reds and mauves or nudes which drain the colour from my face completely.

Now hers are duller, mine has become very bright and more yellow/green. For years my eyes were superlight and dull/soft, I was sick and you could certainly tell by my lifeless eyes. And btw, I think I must be a green eyed winter! My skin is cool and light colors look terrible on me. Summer does not suit me. I thought I was an autumn or spring for years! I fell into the trap this video is all about. My hair is medium brown, my skin is pale with a few freckles and my eyes bright blue-green. No wonder that I thought I had to be warm! I have golden blonde hair, was lighter as kid. They told, ahh spring gets darker hair often. I have blue grey eyes. I am a pitta-kapha in ayurveda and have an easy tanned overtone. Im actually a cool summer with cold blue-grey eys, a darker black ring around the iris and this glass shuttering look, my undertone is very cold and my lips and skin underneath rosy and soft cold. My eye color changes naturally in pigmentation. I can wear some cool winter colors (as blond blue eyed blondie actually and was deeply irritated by that, because the lightest cool summer colors looked bad, but black is too harsh). My eyes can be lighter blue cold, greener/warm in the middle or greish green..i actually have blue, green and grey in my iris. I am a cool summer, but as every individual has also his own tone and my warmer hair and tanned overtone has darker contrast, i can wear some winter tones. Spring, fuchsia or golden yellow is so bad, i look ill in it. My personal range is more green, blue and azur, greish blues and greens, berry, raspberry, dark mauve for example. White is tricky. To light even as cool type in my own pigments, i only have one wool soft white that nearly matches, but shiny cold or romantic feminine pieces would fit me better too. I love charcoal, peacock blue, azur blue, deepsea green, byzanthine blue and aegean teal (nearly my eyes). I say against others, eyes and undercolor of face/neck is the first way to go and im annoyed of this "summers have ashy blonde or brown mousy hair" websites. Your hair can be naturally golden or warm in sun, giving contrast, but dont changes skin or eye main tone. Hint: barefeet in wet grass shoes the cold and very light natural skin tone, whereas arms are very dark tanned as pitta woman. I love my blues, berries, purples, greens and started to hug greenish and bluish greyes. I thought, grey is boring and lifeless, but i am the one who glows in the right one and piece, so it looks not boring on me. I first cried, cause i love warm autumn color and country music, deep brown boots..and i learned to wear warm colors as bag, shoes and jeans, but above the face my great freah cold summer colors. And i am the type of cool summer, i can wear navy very good instead of black

Well myself as probably most of the Europeans was born with navy color and then they turned out to be hazel - not yellow some brown at inner corner the base is green and still the outer corner of the iris still navy, ppl think I have brown eyes ofc, as I Ma quite pale if I wasn’t they would most certainly look greener. Anyways when all of my family members with this eye color (and there are 6 of us in wider family) get tanned the eyes looks greener and with age they also (my aunt and uncle’s case ) loose pigment and the green gets lighter hence more visible. Other members from that side (father) have navy eyes except my brother who has turquoise and my sister she has pale cold blue eyes. My other sister and my mother and all that side of family has brown eyes as her daughters too. I wanted all my life have turquoise eyes like my brother or at least be tanned and pushed that green in my eyes forward to be visible but I have PCOS acnes etc so I avoid sun.

In my scientific Color Analysis method, your eye color (just as your hair and skin color) plays a significant role in finding the exact color frequencies that are aligned with your body and thus help you maintain health on multiple levels. There are specific eye colors that tell me exactly what color type you are and confirm your Root Skin Color. It is fascinating how nature creates colors and combines colors. Chroma and Depth are also important as you mentioned. As it turns out everyone has a unique color type - as unique as your fingerprint (that cannot be put into either seasonal category - too generic). Everyone consists of one or more color frequencies that all underly nature´s principles of color harmony I am in awe of.

That’s really interesting. What happens when the colour changes? Do you have to keep adjusting your entire wardrobe?

The trouble is, the colors they use for draping are not often found in clothing. I don't like any of those colors.

It’s not about those exact colours but the qualities of the colours.

That was my question - are you having makeup. The first thing I noticed was your beatiful face and skin.

Thank you ☺️

This I can get behind. DNA chooses your eye colour based on dominant characteristics, not personal design on what season you are. When hear that your eye and hair colour should match your colour season, I roll my eyes at such an unscientific statement!

I have always believed that I belong to the warm category because I have blue eyes with a yellow rim, freckles and my face has more of a yellow than pink glow. But warm colors, regardless of whether they were clear or muted, never particularly attracted me. But since I was convinced that I belonged to the autumn category, I have keep buying them. I even dyed my hair a warm brown because I thought my cool brown didn't match at all. And I wondered why I looked so yellow. To my surprise it turned out that I am a cool winter. I must say that the colors of that palette attract me much more.
