All about Ariana’s recent coloring it’s like when huge cosmetic brands decides to produce something new that smells like a cleaning product. Whoever came up with this idea is nuts and the one who approves it “should be fired”. But far worse for me is Ariana accepting it 😅 With all respect for her, this is just a critical thought. Because everyone knows it’s not even her visual identity, this is for a movie!! Come on!!

I was typed back in the 80’s a winter, haven’t had it re-done professionally but spending a good deal of time searching out the topic. I hate Beige in any form, from ivory to taupe I look dead at worst and tired at best. I’m not fond of grey or any pale color close to my face either that winter’s can wear. This was very helpful actually.

Agree Ariana is a winter. That said, the dream part of Galinda in Wicked dictates blonde hair and pink wardrobe, and it's clear her publicity contract requires appearances in character-appropirate looks. A lot of her clothes in the film are in cooler pinks, so I imagine that was a conscious choice. But what would we sacrifice for the part of a lifetime? I'd probably try to negotiate for more fuscia and cooler blonde, and then I'd leave the blonde behind and never look back.

Wow, I didn’t know that about her contract. Thanks for sharing ☺️

I think that's an important point-- sometimes the first question to ask is whether 'your colors' actually matter. I'd argue that sometimes they don't. Sometimes you should just pocket the money and wear what someone tells you to wear. On the other hand, this is definitely not the first time she's moved away from her natural coloring. If I can have another hand, in her industry, it's crucial to be able to do that or she would never be 'eligible' for a dream part for a character that was described to a standard of beauty 125 years ago... those standards are so specific to place and time and audiences get so bent out of shape if the actress doesn't conform herself to that description. I think it's an interesting case study, but I'm with you-- I'm going to fall short of judging her choices (which, in fairness, I don't think that's what Sarah was doing either.)
@HelloKimBoyer2 күн бұрын
@jennifercarter1265 I had to wear a lime green polo for work/bonding events. And orange with my high school soccer team. And peach and ivory for ballets. For the greater good and all that. Sometimes we just have to wear the wrong colors and make the best of it with hair and makeup? Actually, strategies to deal with mandatory out-of-season color challenges would be super helpful!

Have you ever tried out a few of the Kibbe system "Natural" clothes recommendations? Not necessarily getting yourself typed ,but trying to add a few clothing ideas to your board? You might have to jump over the color suggestions,but there might be some fun sewing project ideas. I thought the Kibbe explanation sounded utterly confusing when I heard the double curve etc. But someone described it as sewing to accommodate your measurements. A couple good ones were : sewing for very round shapes is harder ,so a lot of draping and rouching or stretchy fabrics accomodates this more easily than turning flat fabric into round shapes. This however takes into account the type of curves. Explaining why certain people trying to wear the rouched,swaged things some full buxom women wear , don't get the same effect. And why I tend to find they look stronger built and more muscular in it rather than round curvy. It accounts for stronger or sharper characteristics down the scale to softer apperances. I didn't start to follow it definitively,but I started to use the references in my vocabulary to describe my bone structure or characteristics of build. People find me quite tiny,wheras I wouldn't think mini skirts vibe with me. I've got sharper , diminutive appearance. Not soft petite. Large floppy things overwhelm me,but I prefer length to my clothes. The same can be said of bows and pixie or fluffy things for a natural per say. Try turning the bow a flowy one instead of fluffy and it might work. I'd choose one with structure and length. Long flowing African style dresses or Hawaiian mumus would grace a Natural strong physique and let your eyes travel down. Flowy, floppy,fluid volumnus bishop sleeves for Naturals,structured ,prim puffs for Dramatics,Easy moderate ones fir Classics, Balloon for Romantic,small for small. Etc. Aly Art (utube channels) describes Kibbe as your overall vibe rather than build. Ellie Jean Royden described the sewing tip.

Thanks for sharing. I have found flaws in the Kibbe system, just as a system has. I prefer to treat each individual uniquely and not subscribe to any one system ☺️💕

@sarahryanthestylecoach What particularly do you dislike in it? I know he says no one fits perfectly in a category and now only does mixed varieties. Is it to closely pooled together for your taste,or do you feel it doesn't hit on proportions? I know I find the triangle vs invert has some tips workable,some I like,some don't distribute evenly. Such as putting all the fullness on the bottom with something strapless. Putting nothing on the top actually draws the eye in my opinion. But not in a flowing way.

Thank you for this video. You won't believe how difficult it is to find "True Summer" when it's really "Cool Summer" that's mentioned everywhere online. THANK YOU for explaining the differences and debunking that True does not equal the Cool (or Warm) sub season. It sounds like you were trained with the 12 season color analysis approach. I was analyzed with the 16 season color analysis system and am a True Summer in that system. I received a separate palette for True Summer and it was noted the palette is Extra Muted and Cool and can range in values from light to dark. So I feel like it falls between Cool and Soft and so long as the hue and chroma are equally balanced (not overly cool and vibrant, not overly light, and not overly muted) then that would be good for me.

I have worked at an optician for years, and I have removed logos from lenses many times using a cotton swab soaked in Sinol. It doesn’t damage the lens or leave any stains or marks. Sinol is commonly used in optics to remove tougher stains from lenses or frames that cannot be cleaned with soap or similar products. Sinol is a brand name in Finland for fuel used in spirit burners and for cleaning sticky stains. It consists mostly of ethanol, along with three other ingredients. It is denatured alcohol or methylated spirits. I’m not sure what the equivalent brand name would be in the US. I found Klean-Strip and Sunnyside. Maybe they are the same or similar.

M&S cashmere is the most awful I have tried. It looks cheap and worn from the initial use and I being a perfectionist, this is really annoying but it’s not only them, N Peal are shoddy compared to previous years. A very Happy New Year! 💐 I think you should return the glasses. It's too much of a risk to ruin them and you can't wear them as they are (bad for your eyes if nothing else). There's so much fabulous eyewear. My style: Eclectic; colourful; expressive. On Pinterest those words don't translate to my style (unless I dress like a clown) so I use words like 'edgy' 'vintage' 'tough' 'complex' 'beatnik' 'mod' - followed by 'style' to search. It's fun. I also have many 'Bright Spring' palettes on a board because all the systems seem to differ. I'm always trying to tune-in to 'my' season. I'm still searching for BS neutrals and how to recognise them since I'm not always in the mood for saturated hues. So many BS palettes seem to have no browns or olives but 10 shades of corral or turquoises. I'm sure I look OK in brown or light olives if not too muddy (but maybe I'm kidding myself). We are all work in progress! BTW, love your nails, rings and your dramatic/sleek-with-edge style.

@@sarahryanthestylecoachI wonder if they are demo lenses and would have been replaced if you had prescription lenses placed in the frames? Definitely check back with the store you got them from. I would be concerned with acetone on lenses to remove because it may cause a frosting of the lens that would ruin it depending on what treatments were done to the glass at the factory.

After I got a color analysis last year I accidentally stumbled into my style as well. I had previously discovered that for me, the key to decluttering is to get started making decisions so I play this game where I take everything out of my closet and say, ‘okay, if I choose one thing to get rid of, I can pick two to keep’. I always seem to have a couple of things I know I’m getting rid of in the next purge, and it’s kind of enlightening to see which things I pick first to keep. And, bonus, after a few of those choices it gets easier decide whether to keep or purge something. The difference this time was that I’d bought a rolling rack and added the stipulation that I wanted to start with getting rid of items that weren’t in my palette and prioritize keeping ones that were. I also did this exercise while thinking about specific occasions/reasons to get dressed (like a big professional event, a work party, a baby shower, an outdoor activity, etc) in each season. I got about halfway into this and realized my style had emerged. I kept picking floral tops to discard and picking up breton stripes to keep. I’d get rid of olive green cargo shorts to keep black chinos. I’d get rid of lace tops to keep linen. I kept going back to this one navy dress with different accessories. And since I was assembling this on a rolling rack, I could start to see these patterns in good light and if I was tempted to keep a floral peasant blouse, I thought twice about it because it so obviously didn’t go with the first 30 things I’d chosen to keep. And I’d realize I would eventually wear that top in the summer because it was cool and I didn’t have enough cool tops to pick from (absurd, because I live in Texas- we have five months of summer). I found I have a pretty preppy style. I’m set in cold and mild weather, but I had major hot weather gap, an utter lack of decent bags, and a serious shoe deficiency that was the source of half my ‘nothing to wear’ moans.
